Mash is a character that appears in the Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin manga and its OVA adaptation.
Early History[]
One of the very first test pilots for Dozle Zabi's mobile suits, Mash was promoted to Warrant Officer alongside his friend Ortega and were under the command of Miguel Gaia. The pair would be joined by fellow acquaintance, Ramba Ral for the finalization of their Mobile Worker MW-01 Model 01 Late Type.
U.C. 0078[]
With the outbreak of war between the Republic of Zeon and Earth Federation, Mash and other early mobile suit pilots were finally given the ability to test their new units. Though these developments were largely thanks to Torenov Y. Minovsky, the scientist was planning to switch sides to the Federation at Granada. Anticipating this, Mash, and the other pilots intercepted Dr. Minovsky and engaged the RCX-76-02 Guncannons sent to assist. The mission to bring Minovsky back alive would end in utter failure when the doctor was killed by a crashing Guncannon, though the group successfully showed the superiority of their MS-05 Zaku I.
U.C. 0079[]
As individual colonies were now debating over who to side with, Operation British irreparably damaged Earth and would force Federation Admiral Johann Ibrahim Revil to take a fleet with Tianem to attack Zeon itself. In response, Mash, Ortega, and Gaia would join the newly-made mobile suit teams with the new MS-06F Zaku II to ambush Revil at Side 5, Loum. The ambush would work swimmingly as the mobile suit teams made quick work of the Federation's fighter planes and battleships, and Mash, alongside the other members of the Black Tri-Stars would earn acclaim for their successful capture of the Admiral himself.
Following the Antarctic Treaty, the team was sent to Earth to assist M'Quve with their new MS-09 Doms. The group would be tasked to sweep the way for their planned attack on Jaburo, and the group would encounter members of the Federation warship, White Base, which had killed Ramba and defeated Char.
The three would spend their time in South America perfecting squad formations for the inevitable battle and would attack the White Base at the Urubamba Gorge. The trio would unleash their deadly combination attacks on the White Base's mobile suits, destroying Hayato Kobayashi's RX-75 Guntank and Job John's RX-77-02 Guncannon. Even the fabled RX-78-02 Gundam of Amuro Ray struggled to deal with these relentless attacks.
As the three attempted to deliver the final blow against the Gundam, Amuro realized that the attacks were designed to position an opponent appropriately for the man behind, and he jumped atop Gaia's Dom as it attacked and stabbed the unsuspecting Mash with a beam saber before he could follow-up from Gaia.
