Maisie May

Maisie May (メイジー・メイ Meijī Mei^?), is a character in Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury. She is a second-year student in the piloting department at Asticassia School of Technology, who belongs to Grassley House.

Personality & Character[]

Maisie remains a very optimistic person, always smiling and trying to stay cheerful. Even in more serious and dangerous situations, she maintains a happy demeanor even when others are discomforted.^[4]^[5] She is also inclined towards playful taunting in duels which she sees mostly as a game.^[6]

Despite her blissful demeanor, she is very observant regarding the political machinations surrounding the Benerit Group and Shaddiq's own plans.^[7] She remains loyal to Shaddiq and his cause.

She has a close friendship with Ireesha Plano, often staying close to her in discussions, duels, and tasks outside of school, and she often encourages her.^[6]^[7]

History[]

Maisie was born on Earth and was one of the war orphans taken in under Grassley's child-rearing academy. She graduated and was admitted into Asticassia while serving under Shaddiq^[1].

Post-Quetta[]

Maisie was with Ireesha and Henao to greet Shaddiq after he talked personally with Sarius. She waved at him and asked if Sarius was mad, and Shaddiq told her that he seemed to have fallen from his favor. Maisie asked what he had planned next, and Shaddiq said that he planned to drag him into his plans.^[7]

During the attack in the Rumble Ring, while Sabina and Renee pretended to provide cover to Sarius with their Heindrees to help him evacuate, Maisie and Ireesha entered his train car and neutralized his guards with pistols. As Ireesha revealed her visor and apologized to Sarius, Maisie lowered hers as well and beamed that they were going to kidnap and take him to Shaddiq, much to his confusion. The two subdued Sarius in a capture device and took him to Shaddiq's headquarters.^[4]

Later, as Norea began pummeling Nika for trying to confess her ties with the Dawn of Fold to the Front Management Company, Maisie cheerfully told her to calm down and knock it off. While she was startled by Nika speaking back, she returned to smiling even as Norea almost beat her to death until Sabina intervened.^[5]

Maisie was present with the rest of the Grassley pilots when Shaddiq talked with the other Benerit CEOs about the upcoming election to replace Delling. Ireesha wondered whether Miorine would have any chance, and Maisie responded that familial ties alone would not be enough for her to win.^[8]
