Machu in Clan Battle is the third episode of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX. It was released worldwide on April 23, 2025.

Synopsis

Amate meets a boy named Shuji, who pilots the Red Gundam. She can’t forget the sensation of the glowing universe they experienced together and suggests forming a MAV to enter the Clan Battle. Amate decides to use the entry name "MACHU."

Plot

Shortly after being taken into police custody, a beaten Xavier Olivette finds himself under interrogation by Side 6's military police investigators, Ward and Chaichi, regarding his affiliation with Zeon's forces. As the crew of the Sodon squabble amongst themselves regarding Xavier's capture and the GQuuuuuuX's disappearance, Challia Bull wonders what the weather is like in Side 6, upon which the captain informs him that it is currently sunny weather according to the schedule.

Back at home, Amate complains to her mother about cram school while mulling over Annqi's offer to join the high-octane illegal underground sport of Clan Battle. While investigating the GQuuuuuuX's specifications, Kaine and Nabu discover that the name "GQuuuuuuX" is a placeholder name intended to disguise the mobile suit's true name, but find that the suit is installed with a self-destruct protocol that will activate if the true name were discovered. Recognizing Amate's talent in piloting the GQuuuuuuX, Annqi offers her a position in Clan Pomeranians to replace the totaled Zaku, but Amate backs out, claiming that she needs to abide by curfew.

The next day, Sodon crashes into Side 6 and parks itself over colony airspace, sparking discussion regarding Zeon jurisdiction over the space colonies. Nyaan picks up another illegal parcel to be delivered, but is warned by her handler that she will be fired if the delivery is unsuccessful by any means. At cram school, Amate investigates the RX-78-02 Gundam and finds an image of its former pilot, Char Aznable; her Newtype senses suddenly kick in and she ditches class, making her way to a graffiti mural painted by a young boy named Shūji, whom she recognizes as the pilot of the Red Gundam. Nyaan passes by and attempts to collect payment for Shūji's installer key, but Amate accidentally knocks the hyte chip out of Shūji's hand and into the river, leaving him penniless. To make up for her mistake, Amate asks Shūji to join her for Clan Battle to earn funds to pay off Nyaan.

Challia meets with Cameron Bloom and arranges for Xavier's release. That night, Amate arrives at the Pomeranians' hideout and accepts the invitation under the codename "Machu", while also claiming that she will bring her own MAV. At a bar, Challia and Xavier discuss the missing GQuuuuuuX over drinks, when Challia is notified by Sodon that the GQuuuuuuX is active. The bartender turns the TV to the Clan Battle channel, where the two discover not only the GQuuuuuuX, but also the Red Gundam on live television.

Amate and Shūji's first Clan Battle begins. A high-strung Amate attempts to scour deep space for her opponents only to be met with suppressing fire by two Zaku units, forcing defensive maneuvers. Challia explains that the MAV system was devised to cover deficiencies in deep space combat by having a second unit back up the first during battle. While her mission control at Clan Pomeranians freaks out about Amate's mistakes, Amate finds herself under high pressure by her opponents, eventually losing her heat hawk when one of the Zakus catches her off guard and blinds her camera sensors. When a distressed Amate calls out for Shūji, the Red Gundam responds and illuminates Amate's Newtype senses, synchronizing their abilities and bringing Amate back into focus. Shūji is pummeled by the opposition for interfering, causing Amate to fly off and divert the Zakus' attention, leading herself into a pincer attack. As Amate is about to be struck, the GQuuuuuuX's lost heat hawk suddenly strikes the head of the Zaku in front of her and decommissions it, with Xavier realizing that Amate predicted the heat hawk's trajectory and baited her opponent into its path. Shūji fends off the second Zaku long enough for Amate to extract the heat hawk from the first Zaku's head and into the second Zaku's neck, decapitating it and claiming victory.

Clan Pomeranians celebrates their unprecedented victory as Nyaan, Xavier and Challia muse on Amate and Shuji's success. As Amate cools down from her battle high, Shūji and the Pomeranian team calls her back to base before the police arrive.
