The MWF-JG73 Civilian Astray JG Custom is mobile suit introduced in the manga Mobile Suit Gundam SEED C.E. 73 Δ ASTRAY. Known pilots include Deago Lowell and Barry Ho.
Technology & Combat Characteristics[]
A modified model of the UT-1D Civilian Astray DSSD Custom created by the Junk Guild for commercial sale. Civilian Astray JG Custom is developed to replace the MWF-JG71 Raysta and unlike it, the suit is constructed using newly produced parts and not salvaged MS parts. Compared to the DSSD Custom, the JG Custom is cheaper and easier to produce as it is manufactured on the same production line as the former. Initial batch of the JG Custom is equipped with the same protective visor and chin armor as the DSSD Custom but as most users dislike them, they are removed in subsequent batches and have become optional items highly recommended by the Guild.
The JG Custom's standard color is orange, but this is often changed later by the users themselves. The JG Custom's overall design allows it to be easily modified and there are numerous optional parts on sale. A popular modification is to make the JG Custom look like one of the MBF-P series unit. This modification is quite expensive as 34% of the parts have to be changed, but that rarely discourages those interested in piloting a MS resembling the prototype Astray units. As a result, these modified units make up about 4% of the JG Customs produced in CE 73. The Civilian Astray JG Custom is only armed with a pair of beam sabers for self-defense, but it has no problem using weapons from other suits.
Armaments[]
- Beam Saber
- A pair of beam sabers are stored on the backpack and are the only fixed armament of the MS. The beam sabers serve as the MS's primary close combat or self defense weapon.
- KMS71/J Beam Pistol
- Same beam pistol as the one used by Civilian Astray DSSD Custom. It has a unique variable output system and focuses more on rate of fire rather than effective range or power. However, one of its shots still can destroy a MS when it hits the suit's vital places.
- Shield
- Same shield as used by Civilian Astray DSSD Custom. It is mounted on the left arm or carried in hand, its sharp edges also allows it to be used as a weapon during close combat. The shield is constructed using special light-weight alloy and does not hamper the MS's mobility in space.
