The MSA-004 Nemo II is a prototype mobile suit based off the Anti Earth Union Group's successful MSA-003 Nemo. The Nemo II's internal frame and external armor is based off the MSA-003 Nemo, but incorporates minor modifications to improve performance. Technologically, the Nemo II features a superior sensor range, an improved thruster assembly allowing it to hold more fuel and achieve greater thrust, and incorporates a more powerful Minovsky ultracompact fusion reactor. Though technologically powerful, the purpose of the MSA-004 Nemo II is to serve as a testbed for the even more powerful MSA-004K Nemo III.

In UC 0087, the Gryps Conflict initiated between the Anti Earth Union Group and the Earth Federation's Titans special forces. During the Conflict military contractor Anaheim Electronics supplied the AEUG with the MSA-003 Nemo mobile suit to replace the aging RMS-179 GM II mobile suits that had served as their mainstay mobile suit force. The MSA-003 Nemo would prove to be a powerful mobile suit that surpassed the Earth Federation's GM II, RMS-106 Hizack, and RMS-117 Galbaldy Beta mobile suits. While the Nemo managed to compete on equal footing with the RMS-108 Marasai, the Titans however would continually field more advanced prototype machines that far surpassed and devastated the AEUG's mobile suit forces.

As the Gryps Conflict progressed, the Anti Earth Union Group needed more powerful mobile suits to counter the newer machines deployed by the Titans. The Nemo II, based on the MSA-003 Nemo, was developed to fulfil this need. There was a need for the AEUG to be supplied with more powerful mobile suits, so Anaheim Electronics took their MSA-003 Nemo design back to the drawing board and sought to improve it. The first new design was the MSA-004 Nemo II, a general purpose mobile suit much like the original Nemo but possessing superior performance. However despite its excellent performance it was decided that the Nemo II was not powerful enough, and was instead used to develop the even more powerful MSA-004K Nemo III.

Template:Infobox/Mobile Weapon Ver.2The MSA-004 Nemo II is a mobile suit mentioned in Zeta Gundam Mobile Suit Variations and first appeared in Gihren's Greed: The Menace of Axis V.

Technology & Combat Characteristics

The MSA-004 Nemo II is a prototype mobile suit based off the MSA-003 Nemo. It is designed to solve the Nemo's lack of firepower and mobility, and has improved reactor output.[1] Due to a change in plans during development, the Nemo II is eventually modified into the more powerful MSA-004K Nemo III.

Armaments

 • 60mm Vulcan Gun
Mounted in the head, these shell firing weapons have high rate of fire but little power and can't damage the thick armor of a mobile suit, though they can damage lightly armored areas such as the sensors. They are ideal for shooting down small, lightly armored targets such as missiles, attack vehicles, etc.
 • Beam Saber
The standard close range armament for most mobile suits, it is a small device held in the mobile suit's hands when operated and is powered by a rechargeable energy capacitor. The beam saber emits a blade of plasma contained by an I-Field and can cut through most armor not treated with anti-beam coating. The Nemo II carries one beam saber.
 • BOWA·BR-S-85-C2 Beam Rifle
The standard ranged armament of many mobile suits is the beam rifle. The particle beam fired from a beam rifle can penetrate almost any armor that has not been treated with specific counter-measures. The Nemo II is equipped with the same beam rifle used by the RMS-179 GM II; which has a power rating of 1.9 MW and powered by a rechargeable energy cap.
 • Shield
The same shield as used by the MSA-003 Nemo, it can switch between an expanded state and a collapsed state for ease of use, and like other shields, its surface has an anti-beam coating to defend against beam attacks. Other features of the shield include sharp edges at the top for ramming/striking attacks and latches on the back for mounting other weapons or equipment.

History

As the Gryps Conflict progressed, the Anti Earth Union Group needed more powerful mobile suits to counter the newer machines deployed by the Titans. The Nemo II, based on the MSA-003 Nemo, was developed to fulfil this need. However, it was later decided that a mobile suit with heavier firepower was needed, and the Nemo II was used as the base machine for developing the MSA-004K Nemo III.
