The MS-17 Galbaldy α (Galbaldy Alpha) is a mobile suit appearing in the manga Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt.
Technology & Combat Characteristics[]
A mobile suit originally belonging to the Principality of Zeon. It is equipped with the same type of backpack as the MS-14A Gelgoog (Thunderbolt Ver.), as well as sealed joints common to other mobile suits. Like the Gelgoog, a foldable sub-arm is mounted on the right forearm.

- A beam rifle powered by the beam generator on the backpack, which is connected to the rifle by cables.

- The same type of shield as the MS-14A Gelgoog (Thunderbolt Ver.).
History[]
Several Galbaldy αs were used by the South Seas Alliance after the One Year War. Vivi Benson, a soon-to-be Psycho Zaku Mk-II pilot, piloted the Galbaldy α to protect the Psycho Zaku Mk-IIs in Earth’s orbit from the Earth Federation forces as they were recovered by the Alliance. Later, some units were present at an abandoned Side 4 colony used by the Alliance to train Psycho Zaku Mk-II pilots, but were destroyed by the MSN-02 Perfect Zeong and the other forces of the Beehive II.
Galbaldy αs would later participated in Operation Maitreya, fighting off Federation mobile suits to allow Alliance troops to breach into and hijack the Solar Ray.
