The MS-15A Gyan Mass Production Type is a mobile suit from the Mobile Suit Gundam Gihren’s Greed video game series.
Technology & Combat Characteristics
A mass production variant of the YMS-15 Gyan formally adopted as the next mainstay MS. The head sensor has been eliminated to ensure production efficiency. The Gyan Mass Production Type retains the basic performance and excellent close-combat capabilities of the the prototype Gyan. Gyan Mass Production Type units assigned to ace pilots such as Robert Gilliam have the "MS-15S" designation instead.
Armaments
- Beam Sword
- The primary weapon of the YMS-Gyan is a high power output beam saber, modeled after a medieval knight's sword.
- Shield
- The Gyan is equipped with a large circular shield that is capable of defending the Gyan from mobile suit beam weapons. The shield also doubles as a support long range weapon that is capable of firing small missiles or deploying space mines.
- Shield Missile
- The shield of the YMS-Gyan mounts 56 small missile launchers. Though individually not very powerful these missiles are deadly when fired in massed volleys. Additionally these were not meant for long range combat, instead serving more as a mid to close range ranged weapon.
- Hide Bomb/Space Mine
- A space version of the aged old Naval mine. It freely floats around in space, damages any Mobile Suit that come near them.
History
Although the original Gyan was planned for mass-production, the One Year War ended before the production line was ready. The mass-produced version was only seen in a What-If scenario of the Mobile Suit Gundam Gihren’s Greed video game.
