The Dom Resonance (ドム・レゾナンス Domu Rezonansu^?) is a mobile suit featured in Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt Side Story.

Technology & Combat Characteristics[]

A variant of the Dom, its lower body below the torso was replaced with a large tank-like hovercraft system. Its chest armor is reinforced and the size of the backpack and number of thrusters is doubled for extra power.

Armaments[]

Scattering Beam Gun: A beam weapon mounted in the left side of the Dom Resonance's chest. Although the scattering beam gun is incapable of damaging an enemy machine, it does produce a bright light that can momentarily blind eyes and visual sensors.

Heat Saber: The Dom Resonance's main close combat weapon, it uses thermal energy to superheat its blade to melt through the armor of an enemy machine. Mounted on the back when not in use.

Raketen Bazooka: A new heavy bazooka which features powerful rocket-propelled rounds, and improved targeting sensor for aiming. It is fed by a top-loading, five-round magazine. The bazooka can be stowed on the side of the hovercraft when not in use.

Knuckle Shield: The knuckle shield is a modified Zaku II shoulder shield which is mounted onto the Dom Resonance's forearm by a brace, off-setting it and leaving the hand free, with the bend of the armor in front of the hand. Three spikes have been placed onto the plate that rests in front of the hand, which increase the knuckle shield's effectiveness as a battering weapon. The Dom Resonance can mount a knuckle shield onto either arm, or even one onto each arm.

History[]

During the One Year War, at least one unit was fielded, as part of a team of cannon-type Doms, by Zeon forces now scattered and operating as guerrillas near Odessa, Ukraine following the Federation victory in Operation Odessa. It was destroyed in combat versus a RX-75 Guntank piloted by Creed and his gunner Sonia.
