The MS-09[NF] Dom Gnomides (MS-09[NF] ドム・ノーミーデス?) is a mobile suit featured in Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation Code Fairy.
Technology & Combat Characteristics[]
A heavily-armed long-range mobile suit developed by Noisy Fairy Squadron pilot and engineer Mia Brinkman for anti-air and anti-land battleship defense. The core unit is Mia Brinkman's previous YMS-09D Dom Tropical Test Type, but it is docked with a custom weapon platform built from a Gallop-class hover system and engines. Movable wings on the sides of the rear unit assist in attitude control. The movable wings also have weapon mounts to carry additional handheld weaponry, but the main armament of the Dom Gnomides is the 30cm main cannon which was salvaged from the wreckage of the YMT-05 Hildolfr. It is similar in concept to the Rhinoceros, which was fielded in the Oceanic front near the end of the war, and the dedicated heavy artillery mobile suit YMS-16M Xamel.
Armaments[]
- 30cm Cannon
- The main weapon of the Dom Gnomides is a large 30cm battleship cannon that can fire various types of projectiles. The cannon was recovered from the destroyed YMT-05 Hildolfr, and a funeral was conducted for the its pilot, Demeziere Sonnen, before the weapon was returned to the battlefield. The 30cm cannon now also has a hinge in the barrel, and is now capable of folding for easier stowing when in transit.
- 360mm Giant Bazooka
- The standard 360mm Giant Bazooka used by the MS-09 Dom line of mobile suits. It fires rocket-propelled 360mm physical rounds. Liquid fuel supplied through a pipe from the Dom's hand is injected as a primary propellant, and then the projectile's speed is increased by rocket motor ignition. It is fed by a 10 rounds magazine, and a single round is powerful enough to blow the torso off of an enemy mobile suit. It can be stored on the weapon mounts on the right movable wing when not in use.
- Large Gatling Cannon
- A large six-barreled handheld gatling cannon fed by a drum magazine on its underside. It can be stored on the weapon mounts on the right movable wing when not in use.
- Heat Halberd
- A very large polearm for melee combat, it has a large and broad axehead on the front of the top and a triangular spike on the back which can both be superheated to high temperatures in order to increase its cutting effectiveness. When not it use it is stored on the weapon mount on the left movable wing.
History[]
The Dom Gnomides was in service in the western North American territory with the Noisy Fairy Squadron at the end of the One Year War. It was designed by Mia Brinkman, prior to the United Maintenance Plan, and constructed at California Base. After the location of the Noisy Fairy headquarters, Tír na nÓg, was leaked by Gihren Zabi, in an attempt to divert Federation attackers from California Base, Mia Brinkman piloted it to defend their home base before it was destroyed. Mia later participated in diversionary tactics to cover the evacuation of California Base before it was recaptured by the Earth Federation Forces. Noisy Fairy fled east to Cape Canaveral, once again acting as a diversion, and drawing Federation pursuers further north through the Appalachian Mountains.
