The MS-07C-1 Gouf Late Modification Type (MS-07C-1 グフ後期改修型, Gufu Kōki Kaishū-gata^?) is a Zeon prototype ground mobile suit which was mentioned in the original design series Mobile Suit Variation.

Technology & Combat Characteristics

The MS-07B Gouf, which had fixed armament as its main weapon, failed to provide better performance in localized battle situations due to its low caliber and limited ammunition. As the result, the C-type Goufs was developed with the concept of increasing the variety of fixed armaments and deploying models according to the situation.

Known as the Late Modification Type, the C-1 Gouf aimed to address this issue by equipping both manipulators with the more powerful 5-barrel 85mm machine guns with detachable magazine for better ammo capacity. It was not known if the heat rod on B-type Gouf's right forearm was retained.

Armaments

• 5-barrel 85mm Machine Gun

Both of the C-1 Gouf's manipulators were equipped with five-barrel 85mm machine guns shaped like enlarged fingers. These machine guns fires physical rounds at a rapid rate, and are more powerful than the smaller 75mm machine guns used by earlier Gouf models. They were fed by magazines mounted on the forearms.

History

The Gouf Late Modification Type addressed the B-type Gouf's lack of fire power and limited ammunition, but it came with additional issues on sustainable firepower, mobility and body armor protection. As such, the C-1 Gouf was deemed unsatisfactory and it would be further developed into MS-07C-3 Gouf Heavy Arms Type.

Notes & Trivia

• The MS-07C-1 Gouf Late Modification Type was not illustrated from the original MSV, but it was realized as SD Gasphapon Senshi capsule toy in 1989 with distinctive conduction pipe color on head and waist (baby blue).
