Mobile Suit Variation,
The MS-06R-2P Zaku II High Mobility Test Type is a mobile suit introduced in Mobile Suit Variation. ==Technology & Combat Characteristics== Developed by Zeonic, this mobile suit is a prototype of the MS-06R-2 Zaku II High Mobility Type. The MS-06R-2P Zaku II High Mobility Test Type is based on the MS-06R-1A Zaku II High Mobility Type, and is equipped with a new generator meant for the MS-11 Act Zaku, which was under development, to achieve both high mobility and the use of beam weaponry. To accommodate the new generator, the capacity of the upper half of the chest was increased by 1.4 times, resulting in the left and right sides of the chest to protrude from the front and rear. Additionally, the shape of the skirt armor was also changed to accommodate extra propellant tank capacity. Other minor modifications included additional intakes on the sides of the chest and additional armor on the legs. ==Armaments== ;*Shoulder Shield :A large composite armored shield on the Zaku II High Mobility Test Type's right shoulder. When the machine is in the optimal attack posture, where the frontal projected area is the smallest, the corners of the shield are in front, maximizing the defensive area and forming sloped armor to reduce damage from ricochets. ;*Beam Rifle :A prototype beam weapon, the Zaku II High Mobility Test Type was only able to use it to fire low-power beams. ==History== In a public test conducted in Granada in October U.C. 0079, Elliot Rem piloted the MS-06R-2P Zaku II High Mobility Test Type, and proved its high mobility and attack performance in a simulated high-speed battle. On the other hand, although the mobile suit succeeded in firing low-power beams, its cooling efficiency remained a problem, as did the output of its thermonuclear fusion reactor, and the machine was judged not to be at a practical level. However, the standardization of beam weapons was excluded from the conditions for selecting the next mainstay MS, and in addition, because this mobile suit demonstrated high mobility when not equipped with beam weapons, it was redesigned as the highly mobile MS-06R-2 Zaku II High Mobility Type, and the R-2P type was also modified into the first R-2 type. ==Gallery== <gallery hideaddbutton=true> ms-06r-2pelliot.jpg|Equipped with Beam Rifle (from Gihren's Greed) 06R-2P.jpg|As featured on Gundam Card Builder </gallery> ==Gunpla== <gallery hideaddbutton="true"> R-1 R-2P.jpg|Custom model kit converted from MG MS-06R-2 Zaku II High Mobility Type </gallery> ==Action Figures== <gallery hideaddbutton="true"> Zeonography_R2ZakuEX_box-front.jpg|Zeonography #3014 "R2 Gallery EX" triple pack (Limited release; 2007): package front view Zeonography_R2ZakuEX_box-back.jpg|Zeonography #3014 "R2 Gallery EX" triple pack (Limited release; 2007): package rear view Zeonography_R2ZakuEX_sample.jpg|Zeonography #3014 "R2 Gallery EX" triple pack (Limited release; 2007): products samples from left - Zaku II R2 Type (Gabby Hazard Custom), Zaku II R2 Type (Robert Gilliam Custom), and Zaku II R-2P Test Type (Elliot Rem Unit) R-2.jpg|Promotional material for Zeonography's "R-2 Gallery EX" triple pack (2007) FIGURE-051892.jpg|MSIA Johnny Ridden's MS-06R-2 figure (second version, 2003), recolored as "MS-06R-2P Prototype High Mobility Zaku (Elliot Lem use)" for a Dengeki Hobby magazine-exclusive release </gallery> ==External links== MSV-Mecha
