The MS-06-SSPEX Police Zaku Armored RRU Type is a law enforcement mobile suit derived from the MS-06-SSP Police Zaku. It appears in Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX.
Technology & Combat Characteristics[]
A more advanced modification of the MS-06-SSP Police Zaku designed to deal with more dangerous threats, the Armored RRU Type has a different head with additional sensors. Additionally, the sirens have been removed from the shoulders.
A commander variant exists that has an additional antenna on its head to differentiate it from the standard variant of the Armored Type.
Armaments[]
- Shoulder Shield
- A large composite armored shield on the Zaku's right shoulder. The Police Zaku's shoulder shield is smaller than standard military version.
- 120mm Machine Gun
- A standard firearm for Zaku type MS. The Police Zaku Armored RRU Type has a modified version of the weapon that has a longer barrel, along with using a curved top-fed magazine instead of a drum.
- Heat Hawk
- An axe-shaped close combat weapon, it uses a super-heated blade to cut through the armor of enemy MS or vehicles. The thermal energy is generated by the power output of the Zaku's thermonuclear reactor and relayed through the MS' hands.
- Electric Baton
- A weapon with a telescoping length rod used by the Police Zaku as a melee weapon, intended to incapacitate enemy mobile suits by using electric shocks.
- Shield
- A rectangular shield attached to the Police Zaku's left arm, which also acts as a storage space for the Baton.
Special Equipment and Features[]
- High-Mobility Booster Pack
- The Police Zaku can equip a large booster pack consisting of a large fuel tank with multiple engines attached to it, giving the mobile suit extended operational range and maneuverability in space. The booster can be quickly jettisoned to reduce weight and bulk for ground combat.
History[]
After the Principality of Zeon won the One Year War, the MS-06 Zaku was sold by Zeon to several colonies as a gesture of good will. However, the sovereign colonies of Side 6, worried about the growing arrogance of Zeon, would reorganize their coast guard into the new "Armored Riot Police". To facilitate this, Side 6 would modify several of their Zakus into Police variants, officially intended to maintain public order and strengthen Side 6's defensive capabilities. Some of these Police Zakus would be further upgraded into the Armored RRU Type to be operated by their special forces.
In UC 0085, two Police Zaku Armored RRU Types, piloted by Raggucci and Árraga, would be sent out in response to the GMS-α Red Gundam defeating a pair of Police Zakus in combat. Both Armored Zakus would follow the fighting between the Red Gundam and the GMS-Ω GQuuuuuuX inside the colony, and after a smokescreen deployed by the GQuuuuuuX allows both Gundams to escape the Armored Zakus begin to tear apart the colony's refugee district in search of the mobile suits. After a brief scuffle with the Pomeranians' Zaku in the maintenance tunnels, Ragguci's Zaku is defeated by the reactivated GQuuuuuuX in combat. Árraga's Zaku pursues the GQuuuuuuX out into space, but is defeated by the GQuuuuuuX after it is beheaded by the latter's heat hawk.[1]
