The MRX-010 Psycho Gundam is a transformable mobile armor introduced in Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX

A 50 meter tall transformable Mobile Armor developed by Murasame Labs, equipped with Psycommu System.

Armaments

• Scattering Mega Particle Cannon

The Psycho Gundam has five Scattering mega particle cannons, three mounted on the abdomen and 2 on the crotch. They each emit multiple energy beams that can easily destroy an enemy unit in one shot. When its reflector armor-bits are expunged, only the two mega particle cannons on the chest remain.

• Beam Cannon

The fingers of the Psycho Gundam each contain a beam cannon, for a total of ten beam cannons.

Special Equipment & Features

• I-Field Generator

When Minovsky particles are released into the air or into open space, the positive and negative particles spontaneously align themselves into a three-dimensional cubic lattice. Due to the repulsive and electrostatic forces between the Minovsky particles, this lattice functions as a kind of force field, which is referred to as an I-Field. This field had difficulty permeating conductive materials like metal, water, and plasma, and it exerted a repulsive force against mega particles, allowing it to deflect enemy mega particle beams. Due to its high power requirements, the I-field generator originally could only be installed in large mobile weapons. When the generator was activated, the I-field formed an invisible barrier around the mobile weapon, protecting it from incoming beam attacks.

This Psycommu system was developed by the Murasame Research Institute.

• Minovsky Craft System

To increase mobility, the Psycho Gundam is equipped with a Minovsky Craft System that allows it to hover without the use of thrusters. It can be operated in both Mobile Fortess and Mobile Suit mode.

• Reflector Armor-bits

When needed, it can expunge its armor pieces and control them as if they were drones. The armor pieces can be controlled as remote melee weapons capable of destroying enemy mobile suits or even damaging ships through brute force, as well as redirect or split the Psycho Gundam's beam attacks in order to increase its area of effect or hit targets that are out of sight. They can also be used defensively to redirect enemy fire.

History

In U.C. 0085, the Psycho Gundam was smuggled into the Izuma colony by the Twelve Olympians Clan under the guise of a colony air conditioning unit, and ostensibly registered for Clan Battle against the Pomeranians. Piloted by Cyber Newtype Deux Murasame, in reality it was tasked with the assassination of Kycilia Zabi who was attending a secret meeting at the colony. The Psycho Gundam would wreak havoc on the colony and its defenses on the way to Kycilia's location, destroying several RRU Type Police Zakus while fending off the Sodon until it was engaged and destroyed by Challia Bull's MAN-03 Kikeroga.

Notes and Trivia

• Despite being named only as the "Psycho Gundam", its aesthetic, color, and capabilities are far closer to the original UC's Psycho Gundam Mk-II. Whether this is just a truncated name or it is actually the first Psycho Gundam model is unknown.
