The MRX-002 Newtype Use Prototype Gundam is a prototype mobile suit from the MSV90 design series featured in the Comic BonBon March 1990 issue. It was illustrated by Tatsuya Tomosugi.

Technology & Combat Characteristics

A prototype unit developed from the RX-78NT-1 Gundam "Alex", this machine's main armaments consists of ten wire-guided bits. To offset the extra weight these weapons put on the mobile suit, it was fitted with several vernier thrusters on various points on the frame. The backpack can also be detached to function independently as a fighter aircraft.

  • Wire-guided Bit
The Newtype Use Prototype Gundam carries a total of ten wire-guided bits all over its body. They are located on the forearms, shoulders, legs, and backpack.

Special Equipment & Features

  • Psycommu System
The Psycommu allows the pilot to mentally control the bits via brainwaves.

The Newtype Use Prototype Gundam was designed but never manufactured. The unit's data was later used in the development of the Psyco Gundam.
