MD-0031 Dilanza (ディランザ Diranza?) is a mobile suit introduced in Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury.
Technology & Combat Characteristics[]
With the Dilanza, Jeturk Heavy Machinery set out to develop a cumulative, universal design. By modifying elements of standard Mobile Suit designs, they arrived at a new standard; a perfect balance between power output and durable armor. To compensate for the Dilanza's decreased mobility due to its large frame and heavy armor, it is equipped with high-output thrusters and hovering units. The development process, which sought to do away every possible weakness of the MS by adding counter measures could be seen as overkill. However, it resulted in an MS with balanced capabilities. As a result, the all-purpose Dilanza is Jeturk's most famous MS. The Astacassia School of Technology's Jeturk House is home to several Dilanza's, with the house's former deputy, now current leader; Lauda Neill, possessing a customised variant.
Armaments[]
- Beam Vulcan
- Beam weaponry affixed to the unit's chest. Due to the beam's low power and rapid-fire capability, it is largely used for diversionary tactics in duels.
- Shield
- A shield is mounted to the shoulder of the Dilanza and is used to store the beam torch
- Beam Rifle
- A standard sidearm developed for MS units by Jeturk Heavy Machinery. In addition to its burst attack, it boasts several other firing modes.
- Beam Torch
- A melee weapon common to all Dilanza units, with a broad beam blade. When not in use, it is stored in the weapon dock inside the shield.
