MD-0031UL Dilanza Sol (ディランザ・ソル Diranza Soru?) is a mobile suit introduced in Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury.
Technology & Characteristics[]
The Dilanzas used at the Asticassia School of Technology follow the school's regulations. As such, these units have limiters that decrease 30% of their energy output. The Dilanza Sol, on the other hand, has no such restrictions and functions as a true combat-ready mobile suit. Its armaments and equipment are also modified to have a higher performance that the standard Dilanza simply cannot match. With a simple removal of its limiters, the Dilanza Sol fulfils its true power without any large-scale overhauls. In other words, all Dilanza units have the potential to be a fully combat-ready mobile suit. Its shoulder-mounted shields are thicker than the Dilanza's providing greater protection. The head unit also contains a military-grade radar system.[3]
Armaments[]
- Riot Gun
- The Dilanza Sol can be equipped with a firearm that could deliver gas shells as less-than-lethal crowd suppression.
- Beam Rifle/Beam Bayonet
- The standard issue firearm of Jeturk Heavy Machinery is a beam rifle with affixed optional module. The long barrel provides improved range and accuracy. Features a Beam Bayonet that could produce a beam blade underneath the barrel.
- Beam Torch
- A melee weapon common to all Dilanza units, with a broad beam blade. When not in use, it is stored in the weapon dock inside the shield. Contains tremendous output due to the lack of limiters.
- HC Missile Launchers
- Optional rear-mounted weapons containing large missiles each containing 16 smaller autonomous homing cluster missiles.
History[]
A Dilanza Sol accompanied by two Heindree Sturms were used to suppress a protest against Earthian–Spacian inequality.[2]
After the Attack on Plant Quetta began, Vim Jeturk sortied in a Dilanza Sol and attacked the Kashtanka, which the Dawn of Fold had hijacked. He engaged a Desultor that sortied from the Kashtanka, destroying the outdated suit's head before its pilot pierced the suit's cockpit with its sword, deactivating it. Realizing that the Desultor's pilot was none other than his son, Guel Jeturk, Vim expressed relief that his son was alive before his unit exploded.[4]
