The MAN-08S-M Helios Mariner is a modified MAN-08S Helios unit secretly retained by Zeon Mars and adapted for underwater operations as part of Operation Shining Star in U.C. 0091—a mission to recapture the Wings of Inle from ReZeon. To enhance its aquatic performance, the unit was made watertight, and its binder thrusters were replaced with magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) thrusters derived from an amphibious mobile armor developed for Axis' Earth invasion operation, with which Zeon Mars had a cooperative relationship.[1] [2]
The claw arms were modeled after the MAM-07 Grublo, while the number of Heat Nata was increased to three per arm. The bits were upgraded for improved propulsion and watertightness, and an additional sub-arm was installed, allowing for precise remote operations by linking it to the Mono-Eye camera, effectively functioning as a mobile bit. The unit’s color scheme was also changed to navy blue to suit its underwater role.[1] [2]

Operational History[]
The pilot of the Helios Mariner is Tsukimori, a clone-Cyber Newtype from the Titans remnants, who allied with Zeon Mars. Alongside AMX-008M Ga-Zowmn Marine Types, Tsukimori heads to ReZeon's underground secret base within a glacier, where the construction of the Wings of Inle is underway. The data and technology gathered from the Helios Mariner’s deployment are said to have contributed to the eventual development and completion of the AMA-X7 Shamblo.[1]
