The MA-06 Val Walo (Full Mission Mode) (MA-06 ヴァル・ヴァロ フルミッションモード Bar Baro Furu Misshon Mōdo?) (also known as Val Walo FMM) is a variant of MA-06 Val Walo designed by Mika Akitaka featured in Hobby Japan magazine, and it first appeared in manga Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 Rebellion.
Technology & Combat Characteristics[]
The Val Walo Full Mission Mode (Val Walo FMM) is an upgraded version of MA-06 Val Walo that focused on enhancing its firepower and mobility, such as upgraded claw arms, additional beam container unit with beam diffusion cannons, alongside additional thrusters and verniers for additional mobility. Thanks to those enhancements, it makes the Val Walo into a heavy assault and high mobility unit that can decimate multiple enemy mobile suits and inflict severe damage to enemy installations.[1]
Armaments[]
- Large Mega Particle Cannon
- The primary weapon of the Val Valo's is a large mega particle gun that sits prominently in the center of the mobile armor's body. This mega particle gun draws a vast amount of energy from the mobile armor reactor, allowing it to fire a mega particle beam that can destroy multiple battleships in a single shot. Even a glancing blast was capable of melting the RX-78GP01-Fb Gundam "Zephyranthes" Full Burnern's shield.
- Large Pincer
- A pair of pincer claws mounted on the underside of the Val Walo which it uses to seize and crush enemy mobile suits. This variant feature four "nails" to have better grab enemy units.
- 110mm Vulcan Gun
- Two pair vulcan guns mounted Val Valo's fuselage.
- 2-tube Missile Pod
- A pair 2-barreled mounted underneath of the Large Mega Particle Cannon.
- Anti-Aircraft Beam Gun
- A pair of retractable beam guns mounted in the forward "wings" of the Val Walo.
- Plasma Leader
- Projectile weapons fired in groups of three. When deployed, the Plasma Leaders lodge in the ground in a triangle formation around an enemy mobile suit, whereupon they project an energy field that immobilizes the enemy.
- Beam Diffusion Cannon
- Four pairs of beam diffusion beam cannons mounted on the mobile armor back unit, that are capable of destroying multiple target simultaneously with one shot.
Special Equipment & Features[]
- Large Propellant Tank
- A pair large external tank used for propellant storage are mounted on the Val Walo's underside. The extra propellant greatly extends the mobile armor's operating range, and enables it to stay in combat longer. When the propellant is consumed, the tank can be discarded to reduce the mobile suit's weight. These tanks use a two-layered construction, with one layer containing propellant, and the other holding extra coolant.
History[]
In U.C 0083 after defeat at the hand of RX-78GP01-Fb Gundam "Zephyranthes" Full Burnern in Lunar surface, the damaged MA-06 Val Walo was recovered by Cima Garahau and sent into Garden of Thorns to be upgraded into the Full Mission Mode to participate in Operation Stardust.[2] After it was upgraded the Val Walo FMM was deployed to Solomon as one of the escort unit for Ad-Unit Rang that carry RX-78GP02A Gundam "Physalis".[3] While escorting the Ad-Unit Rang, it manage to destroy multiple Earth Federation Forces' mobile suits and inflict sever damage to the Federation's Satellite Fortress, but was cut short with the arrival of HFA-78GP01Fb Heavy Full Armor Gundam Full Burnern (HFA GP01Fb).[1] Initially the Val Walo FMM gain superiority over the HFA GP01FB, but it was unfortunately it was defeated.[4] What happened to it was unknown, but it was presumably abandoned.
