Overview

Lhasa was the traditional capital and religious center of Tibet.

History

The Earth Federation Forces moved their headquarters to Lhasa, Tibet in U.C. 0092.

On March 3, U.C. 0093, Char Aznable's Newborn Neo Zeon declared war on the Earth Federation by sending the asteroid Fifth Luna on a collision course with Lhasa on Earth. EFF leadership were apprised of the asteroid strike well in advance and fled Lhasa without informing the public or evacuating the local population. Londo Bell attempted to intercept Fifth Luna, but encountered heavy resistance from Newborn Neo Zeon forces personally led by Char Aznable and failed to prevent the attack. Lhasa and Fifth Luna were both obliterated by the impact.

Earth Federation Vice-Foreign Minister Adenauer Paraya lived in a mansion in Lhasa with his mistress Katherine and his daughter Quess Paraya. When evacuating Lhasa shortly before Fifth Luna's impact, Adenauer had to use the local police to locate and retrieve his rebellious daughter from the city. Adenauer, Katherine, and Quess then took a flight from Lhasa to the spaceport in Hong Kong, as Adenauer needed to travel to the space colony Londenion to participate in peace negotiations between the Earth Federation and Newborn Neo Zeon. The shuttle to Londenion narrowly avoided the path of Fifth Luna as it bore down on Lhasa.
