Largan Drace (ラーガン・ドレイス Rāgan Doreisu?) is a character from the TV anime Mobile Suit Gundam AGE, he also appears in the manga Mobile Suit Gundam AGE: Memories of Sid.
Personality & Character[]
He is a man of common sense with a cheerful personality. However, his innate earnestness often causes him to be forced to take on roles that are detrimental to him.
Skills & Abilities[]
Largan is skilled as a mobile suit pilot, such that he was the lead pilot of the mobile suits stationed at Arinston base on Nora. Largan has displayed the ability to fight the Vagan mobile suits, hindered only by the inferior performance of his Genoace. In AG 151, he is promoted to Major, and at the age of 65, he is still an active and skilled pilot.
History[]
First Generation (A.G. 115)[]
Largan was a lieutenant and commander of the Allinston Base MS Security Force "Largan Platoon". When the UE attacked the colony, Flit Asuno was willing to let Largan pilot the Gundam AGE-1 but Vargas Dyson would not allow him to risk his safety piloting a new mobile suit. After seeing the situation getting worse, Largan instead piloted the RGE-B790 Genoace. While waiting for the hanger's gate to fully open, a Gafran on the other side attacked the Genoace. The attack knocked the Genoace down but Largan managed to return fire long enough for the gate to close once again. He is then rescued by the Earth Federation soldiers, though he has sustained minor injuries.[1]
Largan later boards the Diva and asks Millais Alloy if there are any more Genoace onboard so he can assist Flit in battle. He is forced to wait and rely on the Gundam as none of them are ready for use.[2] After the battle, Largan discusses what will happen to the people of Nora with the children and the rest of the crew. He tells Dique Gunhale that the people will be taken to Tordia. Woolf Enneacle soon enters the room after awakening from his cold sleep and asks what is going on. Largan introduces Flit to him, describing him as the first human to defeat the UE. He later watches their duel against each other and worries when they encounter the UE during their battle.[3]
After reaching Fardain, Vargas shows Largan the Genoace and he tells him that he doubled the armor. They watch as Woolf leaves the ship.[4] When the UE attack Fardain, he launches in the Genoace and backs up Flit, who is struggling against the Baqto. He tells Flit that the AGE System is making a new weapon for him and to go and retrieve. He holds off the Baqto until Flit returns in the Titus.[5] Though surprised to hear the truth about Grodek Ainoa and his future plans, Largan agrees to join him in the assault against the UE forces at Ambat.[6] He joins Flit and Woolf in the battle to protect Fardain, not wanting to fall behind them. [7]
On the way to Minsry, Largan realises that Millais has a crush on Woolf. He joins Grodek and the others at Birmings Mansion, taking part in the strategy meetings. He is present when Grodek is arrested, and joins Flit and Woolf when they decide to rebel and free him.[8] He is upset about having to fight his fellow humans but Woolf tells him not to lose sight of their end-goal. He prepares to launch in his Genoace but the Diva crew are blinded by the Federation Forces and he finds himself at gunpoint, unable to make a move. When the Federation Forces are distracted by Flit, he makes his move and takes out the mobile suit which is threatening him. As the UE join the fray, he battles them and manages to take out a Gafran for the first time.[9]
Leading up the the Battle of Ambat, Largan speaks with Woolf and asks if he has a girlfriend. Woolf tells him that he only cares about his mobile suit, and Largan tells him not to die. He launches during the battle and faces the UE alongside Woolf and the others.[10] He returns to the ship during the battle to service his mobile suit, and has his injury treated by Emily. He asks if she is worried about Flit and comforts her, telling the girl that Flit will be fine.[11] The Diva soon reaches Ambat and while the crew infiltrate the fortress, Largan defends the ship from outside along with Woolf and later Ract Elfamel. He is courtmartialed after the battle along with the rest of the crew but is cleared of any wrongdoing after Grodek claims total responsibility.[12]
AG 151[]
In the year AG 151, Largan Drace is a veteran mobile suit pilot. He and his platoon are assigned to apprehend the space pirates Bisidian. Largan and his platoon of RGE-G1100 Adeles pursue Wivik Lambro and his crew to the asteroid, were the EXA-DB is located.

- In the third novel, it is revealed that Largan is the instructor of Asemu Asuno, Arisa Gunhale, and Max Hartway. He is married and has one daughter, however, during this time his wife had already passed away.
- Largan's voice actor, Wataru Hatono, also voices Ogre from the Build Divers series.
