Kihel Heim (キエル・ハイム) is a fictional character from ∀ Gundam television series.
History[]
The oldest daughter of the Heim family. Though Kihel is a wealthy heiress, she chooses to look for work and gain real-world experience rather than attend university. She sticks close to Guin Sard Lineford during Dianna Counter's first attack and uses the opportunity to become his assistant. Her new position brings her to the attention of the leaders of the Moonrace.
Kihel bears a striking resemblance to Dianna Soreil, which allows her to become the Queen's double. When they swap places at Dianna's behest, they end up becoming separated due to Michael Gern breaking the ceasefire and chaos breaking loose. This means she is forced to impersonate Dianna and lead the Dianna Counter on a long-term basis. She learns of the Moonrace's internal struggles and about how Agrippa Maintainer is attempting to wrest control of the Moonrace from Dianna. Harry Ord also becomes aware of her identity, which brings the two closer. Kihel realises that Harry is the only person she can rely on and she tasks him with finding the real Dianna.
After the real Dianna finally returns, Kihel expects Dianna to return to her position. However, Dianna asks her to continue with her disguise so that she can freely investigate the moon. Kihel agrees, but the situation beomes complicated when an excavated nuclear weapon goes off. Phil Ackman rebels against Dianna, but Harry takes Kihel away and pretends she is the real Dianna. Phil is forced to take the real Dianna as a prisoner as he is unsure which is the real one. Kihel decides to head to the Zacktraeger with Harry, which is where the real Dianna was planning to go so that she could travel to the moon. She also attempts to stop Guin from going into space, knowing that his ambitious and greedy nature will only make things even worse. Guin accepts her on board, unsure of her true identity, and she acknowledges that she will need to travel with him to space. However, she is kept in confinement until the Willgem actually makes it to space.
Kihel reunites with Loran and Sochie in space, with the three playing together like they used to do before the war. However, Harry decides to hand her over to Gym Ghingham while pretending that she is Dianna in order to protect the real Dianna after she escapes from the Agrippa faction. Kihel is aware of what Harry is doing, but she confesses her love to him and tells him that she will do whatever he wants if he reciprocates. He does and the couple share a kiss. She is eventually confronted by Gym who has realised she is not the real Dianna, and proclaims his desire for her as a woman.
She permanently switches places with Dianna at the end of the series, and rules over the Moonrace with Harry at her side.
Relationships[]
Loran Cehak[]
Kihel treats Loran the same as the rest of her family's staff. They are not seen interacting that much and Loran is much closer to Sochie. When she returns from the Soleil while still pretending to be Dianna, she witnesses Loran in action once again. She trusts him to look after Sochie and herself.
Sochie Heim[]
Their relationship starts to deteriorate after the death of their father. Consumed by hatred against the Moonrace, Sochie insists in fighting them at every chance while Kihel prefers to resolve the issue through diplomacy. This puts the sister at odds, with Sochie rebelling against Kihel and Kihel being worried about Sochie's wellbeing.
Dianna Soreil[]
The two go on to switch names and roles several times due to their resemblance. Kihel and Dianna share many qualities beyond appearance and their ideals are so aligned that for a time they consider themselves a single person. Even so, Kihel has much more energy than Dianna, and does not share Dianna's longing for an ordinary life. She is very good at masking her insecurity over whether or not she can live up to Dianna's example.
Harry Ord[]
Harry figures out that Kihel swapped places with Dianna but still tries his utmost to protect her. Kihel trusts Harry and relies upon him alone, entrusting him with the vital task of finding the real Dianna. She confesses her love to him and agrees to replace Dianna under Gym Ghignham's grasp on the conditions that he returns her love and that she should die in his arms if it comes down to it.
Guin Sard Lineford[]
Kihel had a good relationship with Guin, working under him during the initial invasion from the Moonrace. She supports him during negotiations and studies under him. However, she begins to wonder if she was too trusting of him after he sends out Sochie in the White Doll.
When she returns from the Soleil, she makes contact with Guin in order to prevent him from going to the moon as she believes that his ambitious and greedy nature will worsen the situation. She is wary of his allegiance with Lily Borjano. She also worries about how Guin enjoys playing with his new weapons too much. Ultimately, it is clear that she no longer trusts him but is only forced to work with him out of necessity.
