Kentaro Mahara (マハラ・ケンタロウ, Mahara Kentarō^?) is a character that appears in the ONA Gundam Breaker Battlogue, serving as the primary antagonist. He also appears in Gundam Breaker Mobile.

Character & Personality

A Gunpla battler based in the United States. He has a sharp mind and he's conducted all sorts of research and analysis of Gunpla battles, repeating simulations with his own original AI system to steadily improve his strength.

History

Kentaro Mahara was one of the two finalists in the thirteenth Gunpla Battle U.S. Championship, where he faced Takuma Nagitsuji. He was defeated by Takuma, which wounded Kentaro's pride. In order to lure Takuma out for a rematch he began to formulate a scheme, and traveled to the Ayato Shopping District in Japan, where Takuma's team was based, although Takuma hadn't been there in some time. It was here, by chance, that he encountered the Soukai Academy Gunpla club's junior members, who were also coming to visit the Irato game center. Mr. Gunpla noticed a confrontation arising from Tsukumo Shinjou bumping into the incognito Kentaro, and sought to mediate their dispute with a Gunpla battle. Kentaro defeated Tsukumo in under ten seconds, and challenged Mr. Gunpla next, but Ichiho Seto asks to battle him first, and manages to barely defeat Kentaro by cheating with an AI support. Realizing instantly Ichiho had been cheating during the match, Mahara gets an idea to also use AIs as a part of his scheme and departs the Ayato Shopping District.

A few months later Kentaro would put his plan into action at GB Fest. Donning an elaborate masked costume, he took over GB Fest by hacking the system and used "Runner Prisons" to capture all of the players' Gunpla and hold their data hostage, breaking their Gunpla apart and re-combining them into new Gunpla to turn against other players. Seeing the threat emerge Kadomatsu reaches out to Ichiho for help to devise ways to counter the Masked Man's programming, and to see if they can send in other players to also combat him. Ryusei Fudou, Sana Miyama, and Touma Aizen manage to avoid capture by the runner prisons, and hold their own against the converted Gunpla for a time, however they are eventually trapped when confronted by the Masked Man's powerful Gunpla, the Gundam Barbataurus. Misa Satsukino comes to their rescue, her Blazing Gundam equipped with a special mask designed by Kadomatsu that provides a "vaccine" to counter the virus effects, freeing them from the runner prisons. Misa recognizes the Masked Man as Kentaro from the Barbataurus's missing half of its V-fin, and Kentaro unleashes four AIs and the powerful custom Gunpla he created.

The group struggle against the skill of the AIs, but manage to defeat them with teamwork and the assistance of Kadomatsu working to counter the programming. Takuma re-unites with Kadomatsu, and convinces him to send him into the game with his Gundam 00 Command Qan[T]​ to try to be of help in the battle. His sudden appearance enrages Kentaro, who makes his Gundam Barbataurus grow to an enormous size, leading to the simulator becoming even more unstable. The battle rages on and Kadomatsu is able to re-program Kentaro's AIs to fight against him as well. With his programming undone his Gundam Barbataurus is defeated, and Kentaro is confronted by event staff. Humbled, he releases the data of all of the players after seeing how much everyone had been enjoying the spectacle thinking it was a part of the festival.

Over the next few months, Kentaro is sent on an apology tour to apologize to all of the player's he wronged.
