Kelley Layzner(ケリィ・レズナー ) is a fictional character from Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory.
History
This former Zeon lieutenant fought alongside Anavel Gato in the One Year War, ultimately losing his arm in battle. Now the operator of a junkyard with his live-in girlfriend Latura on the bottom level of the lunar metropolis of Von Braun City, Kelly secretly dreams of returning to the battlefield, and in his spare time he works to restore a leftover MA-06 Val Varo, a Zeon mobile armor from the One Year War. When he meets Kou, the two form a friendship based on their shared experience as warriors, but both men are well aware that if they meet in battle then it will be as enemies.
When he learned of Anavel Gato's accomplishments in UC 0083, Kelley sought to rejoin his old friend and rushed to complete repairing the Val Varo. However, Cima Garahau had other plans. Realizing that Kelley would be a liability, she had one of her cronies pay him off with gold bars so he could pilot the Val Varo himself. Angered and insulted, Kelley suited up against the wishes of Latura and took off in search of the RX-78GP01-Fb Gundam Full Vernian "Zephyranthes". To his surprise, Kou was the pilot of the Gundam and he kept his word, fighting the man he earlier called friend. Kou was unwilling to fight back, but when Chuck Keith intervined with his RGC-83 GM Cannon II, his attempts to drive him off nearly killed Nina Purpleton, who had raced out to stop Kou himself. Enraged, Kou redoubled his efforts and crippled the Val Varo. Kelley expressed no regrets for his actions, but when Kou begged for him to escaped, he told him he didn't include an escape pod. His last action was to have the Val Varo toss away the Gundam's legs (as Kou had separated them from the Gundam when the Val Varo caught him in its claws)
