Kalent is a character that appears in the OVA Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory.

History

Kalent is the commander of the defense force at Torrington Base. He has a rivalry with South Burning, who has the same rank as him, and derides him as a "dirty bastard" for his womanizing ways. In October U.C. 0083, he boards a GM Kai and goes out with a search party to pursue and retake the Gundam Prototype Unit 2 stolen by Anavel Gato. However, while scouting the coastline, they were ambushed from behind by the Unit 2, which was lying in wait in a dense fog, and the entire platoon was wiped out.

In "0083 REBELLION," unlike in the OVA where Burning's platoon discovers the Komusai II, Kalent's platoon discovers it. However, they were noticed approaching and attacked first, and were also involved in a random attack by the 404th Airborne Unit of the intervening Federation Army. The paratroopers and his subordinates are all killed, and Kalent, who is the only survivor, aims his bullpup machine gun at the Prototype Unit 2 in an attempt to get revenge, but is killed when a thrown Beam Javelin pierces his cockpit. Afterwards, Burning's platoon rushes to the scene, but it is too late, as Burning is already mourning Kalent's death.
