The Joule Team is a sub-faction introduced in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam SEED.

Overview

The Joule Team is a ZAFT unit led by ace pilot Yzak Joule, and composed of several members who were briefly part of the Le Creuset Team.

History

First Alliance-PLANT War

The team was formed prior to the First Alliance-PLANT War's Second Battle of Jachin Due, with pilots such as Shiho Hahnenfuss and Isaac Mau belonged to it, defending the homeland of PLANT. During the end of the first war, Yzak got promoted from Red Uniform to White Uniform with a Commander variant, while Dearka Elsman reinstated as a ZAFT soldier and joins the team.

Second Alliance-PLANT War

Around two years later, before the outbreak of the Second Alliance-PLANT War, the Nazca-class destroyer, the Voltaire, served as the team's flagship. Yzak, together with his old acquaintances Dearka and Shiho, tried to stop the "Break The World" Incident and engaged in several small-scale space battles during the war. In the later stages of the war, former members of Heine Westenfluss' corps were assigned to the team. During the attack on Requiem Station One and battle of Messiah, the Joule Team allies with the Three Ships Alliance, and they fought hard until the end of the war with no notable damage or casualties.

Following the end of the second war, ZAFT formally introduced a rank system, and Yzak was given the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

Foundation Conflict

By C.E. 75, he was promoted to Commander and became the head of the Intelligence Division at the PLANT General Staff Headquarters, alongside Dearka, Shiho and the other members of the team.
