Jospeh Yaht (ジョゼフ・ヨット) is a fictional character from ∀ Gundam television series. He is the leader of the Inglessa Militia's Jalopy Squad.

Personality & Character[]

Joseph is subordinate to Sid. He gets along with Loran at first but turns on him when he founds out he's Moonrace. He is cocky and thinks he can pilot the White Doll in place of Loran. However, he becomes gentler as the series progresses and no longer discriminates against the Moonrace.

History[]

Joseph comes from the Maba clan,[1] an ethnic minority that is persecuted in Adeska. Any Adeskan whose parents had been killed were simply left to fend for themselves at the mountain's base, and Joseph was left alone at the age of three. He was found by Sid Munzer and helps him as part of his excavation team. After the war breaks out, he is needed to pilot the Militia's FLAT-L06D FLAT. He participates in Michael Gern's attack against the Soleil, breaking the ceasefire with the Moonrace.

After Nocis City is destroyed, the Inglessa Militia allies with the Luzianna Militia. During this period, he meets with Fran Doll, quickly realising that she was a Moonrace like Loren and had been covering for him. Unlike with Loran however, he does not treat her harshly. They quickly form a romantic relationship.

Jospeh reunites with Loran and the others as they head towards Adeska, and Joseph returns to his homeland. He meets Mayalito and recognises that she is also from the Maba clan. He is concerned about her and tells her that she has options outside of living in Manupichi, but she refuses in favour of serving the king.[1] He is shocked when she resolves to die by his side and is blown up.

While the others head for the moon, Joseph stays behind with the forces on Earth under the Jalopy team. After Gym Ghingham's forces attack, he meets up with Mallygan in an attempt to rally the milita's forces. He also takes him to Keith in attempt to enlist the help of the Moonrace engineers. While there, he reunites with Fran and the rest of Loran's crew.[2] He later meets up with Guin together with Loran, Fran and Sochie. during negotiations he fills the room with gas and his team runs away. During the confusion, Joseph steals back the Gundam.[3] However, he refuses to return it to Loran due to his pride and competitive nature and the two wrestle over it in the cockpit. Joseph wins and throws Loran out of the cockpit, then heads off into battle. He faces Gym but is swiftly defeated.[4]

He has a child with Fran at the end.[5]
