John Kowen (ジョン・コーウェン?) is a fictional character from Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory.
History
John Kowen is a high-ranking officer in the Earth Federation Forces who initiatived the Gundam Development Project. Following the theft of the GP-02 "Physalis", he charged the warship Albion with recovering it. Sympathetic to their mission, he granted Eiphar Synapse and the Albion great leeway, particularly when it grew to involve the Delaz Fleet.
Kowen would later be removed from the Gundam Development Project and replaced by Nakohha Nakato, who was much less sympathetic.
During the final stages of Operation Stardust, Kowen learned of Cima Garahau's involvement with the Federation forces under the command of Admirals Gene Coliny and Jamitov Hymen, and with it, the Federation's intricate plan to stop the colony drop. Pleading to Coliny that there was still time to directly stop it, Hymen pulled his pistol on Kowen and he was escorted out by two guards.
Kowen's fate after Operation Stardust is unknown. It is possible that he did not survive the subsequent military purge following the formation of the Titans.
