Iwark Briar (イワーク・ブライア) is a fictional character from Mobile Suit Gundam AGE.
Personality & Character[]
Iwark is a wise and courageous man. He is caring and looks out for others, helping Flit Asuno and Emily Amonde get to safety and looking after the abandoned Riria. He is passionate and has a strong sense of justice which made him recklessly face both the Zalam and Euba forces in just his Desperado.[1]
History[]
Iwark at some point found Riria abandoned and adopted her. He also managed to acquire a Desperado after much difficulty.
When Flit Asuno and Emily Amonde get caught in a battle between Zalam and Euba, he calls them underground to safety. He takes them to his home and reunites with Riria on the way. Iwark tells them about the Colony Nation Wars and how it still continues in Fardain, and about the current situation of the colony. During their conversation, another battle breaks out and Iwark goes to check on Riria who was playing with Haro. She is nowhere to be seen, and Iwark fears she has gone to the surface.
Iwark heads to the surface with Flit and Emily in his Desperado. He finds Riria crying in a corner near the battlefield and calls out to her. She starts running to him but is floored by a nearby explosion. He exits the cockpit and runs to check on her, finding her unconscious. He gives her to the other two children and heads off to fight the two factions in his Desperado in a fit of anger. He is soon overwhelmed, being both outnumbered and outmatched in his construction mobile suit, but Flit arrives in the Gundam and defends him. Flit tells to withdraw and although Iwark protests, he relents when Flit asks him who will look after Riria if he dies. After exiting his damaged mobile suit and running, it explodes. He turns back in shock, realizing he almost died in there. He then watches the ensuing and as Flit is later taken into custody by the Zalam forces.[2]

- Iwark bears some similarities to Cucuruz Doan. Both are hardworking men looking after children who are caught up in a war.
- Iwark's voice actor, Nomura Kenji, also voiced Alec from Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn and Orcus from Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans.
