Hendrick Bruzar (ヘンドリック・ブルーザー) is a character that appears in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam AGE.

Personality & Character[]

He is kind and was very close to Flit Asuno. He cared more about civilians and military personnel's lives over his and was ready to sacrifice his own life to save them. This was shown when he sacrificed himself to destroy a blockage preventing Nora's colony core from escaping the destruction.

Skills & Abilities[]

Hendrick is decisive, quickly taking command and organizing a resistance against the UE even though they caught the Earth Federation off-guard.

History[]

First Generation (A.G. 115)[]

Hendrick is the one who takes in the orphaned Flit, seven years old at the time, and invites him to the Arinston Base to become a technician. He claims that he is bringing him in only because he is interested in the Asuno Family's talent as mobile suit craftsmen. He tells Flit to live on for the sake of his parents and to carry on the blood of the Asuno family. He listens to Flit when the young boy tells him how he is going to be a savior, and tells Flit that he was high hopes for him.[1]

When Nora was attacked by the UE, he took up command and led the resistance against the enemy. Although he is opposed to Flit heading out to battle in the Gundam, Hendrick gives in to his determination and lets him go on the condition of survival. He watches as Flit and the Gundam head into battle and reacts in shock when he actually defeats a Gafran.[2]

The UE proceed to attack the colony from the outside and Grodek Ainoa proposes that they launch the Diva to fight them. As Hendrick considers the suggestion, they are informed by Millais Alloy that the attack has caused structural damage to the colony and will soon result in its destruction. Although Adams Tinel is ready to launch evacuation ships, he recognizes that it would take too long. He resolves to send out the Diva and tells Millais to contact Dian Fornold, the captain of the ship. He then devises a plan to evacuate all the inhabitants of the colony of the center core, then have the Diva carry it away in order to allow everyone to escape. He allows Grodek to inform Dian personally, and hopes that the Gundam will stall the enemy in the meantime. Soon everyone evacuates, leaving only Hendrick and Millais still in the base. He tells her to go ahead as he needs to stay behind in order to separate the core from the colony, reassuring her that he still has an escape route. He tells her to load the Gundam onto the Diva as it is humanity's last hope. She obeys his orders and leaves, oblivious to the fact that there is actually no escape route.[3]

After the Diva launches, Hendrick speaks with Grodek and is told that the latter has been made the captain of the battleship. He is forced to run when a Zedas enters the empty colony and opens fire. The base is destroyed but a wounded Henrick makes his way to the old construction management center and resolves to separate the colony core from there. He reminisces about how he first met Flit and about the boys goal of becoming a savior after hearing about how he is fighting the UE, then finally separates the core from the colony. As the colony continues to collapse, a shaft blocks the extraction of the core. Hendrick launches in a mobile suit carrying a large amount of explosives and rams it into the blockage, clearing it and saving the inhabitants of Nora in exchange for his life. Before passing away, he speaks with Flit. Hendrick gives him some parting advice and tells him to become a savior.[1]
