Hashmal's Pluma is an unmanned subunit of the Hashmal introduced in the second season of the TV anime Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS.
Technology & Combat Characteristics[]
The large, unmanned mobile armors have the ability to produce small, unmanned subunits known as Pluma to assist them in their operations.[1][2][3][4] This particular model of Pluma is produced by the mobile armor Hashmal.[2][3][4] For offensive purposes, it is equipped with a pair of claws on its arms, a drill on its tail and a concealed railgun underneath its singular red eye.[2][4][5][6] A single Pluma is no match for a mobile suit, but as it move in groups, they can easily decimate production plants, human beings and even mobile suits.[7] In melee combat, Hashmal's Plumas close the distance via hovering, then leap or fly as they launched their attacks.[7] They also tend to attack from various directions, confusing the enemy with their tricky movements.[7] Thanks to the thrusters on various parts of its body, Hashmal's Plumas are capable of agile movements.[8]
These Plumas move by receiving power supply from the Hashmal via microwaves, with each unit having a hatch at the top that serves as the energy receiver.[3][6][7][8] They operate based on orders from the Hashmal, and will stop functioning if the latter is destroyed.[3][6][7] Aside from serving as attack units, and protecting the Hashmal, they also carry out other functions such as collecting resources and materials to resupply and even repair the Hashmal.[2][6][4] The Hashmal in turn can manufacture new Plumas with these resources.[2][6][8] Data of the surrounding area collected by the Plumas are also transmitted in real time to Hashmal.[3] Although these Plumas have a form distinct from the Hashmal, from a system point of view, they are still considered a part of the mobile armor.[3]

- Railgun
- Located under the singular red eye, behind a pair of shutters, the railgun has low firepower, but Hashmal's Plumas compensated for this by firing their railguns in a tight formation.[6][7][8]
- Claw
- A claw is mounted on each arm.
