The Gwadan-class is a class of battleship introduced in the Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam anime series.
Technology & Combat Characteristics[]
A successor of the Principality of Zeon's Gwazine class, the Gwadan class also sports a crimson hull and huge spherical propellant tanks near the stern. The Gwadan class is designed with excellent long-range cruising capability and the ability to take on multiple enemy ships simultaneously. Its primary guns pack enough power to decimate the thermonuclear engines of the super structure, Colony Laser. One of the major upgrades over the Gwazine class is the provision of two mobile suit catapults at the top and a mobile suit launcher at the bottom that can launch mobile suits in any angle of its 270-degree fore sweep. It is unclear exactly how many mobile suit this large ship can carry, though it is said to be capable of carrying around 100 AMX-003 Gaza-Cs. With grand halls catered for Zabi family members (in effect Mineva Zabi), the Gwadan class served as flagship of the Axis Zeon fleet.

History[]
The Gwadan-class's namesake vessel, the Gwadan, served as the flagship of Haman Karn's Axis Zeon forces during the Gryps War. The ship was later destroyed during the war by the Titans after the death of Jamitov Hymen.[1] Apart from the namesake, there were three other vessels; the Gwaley,[2] the Inxs,[3] and the Gwajar.[4]
In UC 0116, the Gwajar operated by Neo Zeon remnant group "Legacy" was docked alongside Carrozo Ronah's ship, the Zammouth Garr, in a backwater colony called Oak Leaf located in the far side of the Moon, also known as Zebra Zone. The captain of the ship and also leader of "Legacy", Rhein Dragun, wanted to discuss an alliance with Carrozo.[5]
