Gusion Surugan (グシオン・スルガン Gushion Surugan?) is a fictional character from the Gundam Reconguista in G anime series.
Background & Character[]
Gusion is Aida Surugan's father, adopting her from a Children's Home in New Yark.
He is a a levelheaded and rational man, trying to solve things by talking if he can. However, he is also loyal to his country and obedient to the President, even if he does not agree. He is a soldier before he is a politician.
History[]
Gusion first appears when the Megafauna is attacked by the Capital Army, arriving with reinforcements. He reunites with Aida Surugan. He discusses the threat from outer space and the breaking of the AG-Tech Taboo with Wilmit Zenam.[1] Bellri and Wilmit soon persuade the Megafauna to go to the Capital Tower so that the two parties can work together, and gets approval from Gusion and Donyell Toss. He is able to speak with Gel Trimedestus Nug, but he denies that there is any threat from outer space and claims that the true threat comes from Ameria.[2] Gusion tells Gel that he will convince the president not to send out the space fleet, but learns that it is being sent out anyway as he makes his way back to his country.[3]
On his way back, he encounters the Salamandra but his allies fire at him, believing him to be a threat. He makes it back to Ameria and speaks with the President, but it is too late and he is forced into compliance. He takes command of the army in the Rattle-Python and decides to take Gel captive.[4] He joins Klim and Mick Jack as they try to get Gel and the others to give them the resources to acquire photon batteries, but their conversation is interrupted after the Towasanga fleet destroys an Amerian ship as a warning.[5] He partakes in the negotiations with Noutu Dorette, where he blames Towasanga for building up their fleet. He agrees to further talks[6] and is seen in present in further negotiations.[7]
As the war between the Amerian Army, Capital Army and Dorette Fleet escalated, Gusion went back and forth between Earth and Space while working on logistics.[8] After receiving information about Wanjira from the returning Bellri and others, he decides to head for the empty Kashiba Mikoshi, intending to use holy ship as a shield. Although Aida and the others object, Gusion tells them to fight alongside the Amerian Army but they refuse and tell him the Megafauna will continue to act independently. He is surprised at Aida's defiance and becomes confused about why she thinks Bellri is her brother, as that was not something written in her history at the Children's Home. He later meets up with the Megafauna and they head to the Kashiba Mikoshi together while the Dorette Fleet and Capital Army face each other.[9]
After boarding the Kashiba Mikoshi, he leaves with the army to call for an armistice with the Dorette Fleet. Klim Nick and Mick Jack object, but he indirectly tells them that they will attack them once they are back on Earth. When his fleet attempts to meet with the Dorette Fleet, they are unable to communicate due to Minovsky Particles and Gusion anticipates a battle against the Capital Army. They face the Yggdrasil with their fleet but are overwhelmed. The Pirate Corps eventually arrive and face the Yggdrasil, with Aida heading to Gusion in order to protect him. As the Yggdrasil is destroyed, it fires some final beams and one of them hits the control room of the Rattle-Python and breaks the window, causing Gusion to be flung out by the air pressure. As he was not wearing his suit, he died in space.[10]

- Gusion is the name of the 11th Demon in the Ars Goetia. A Gundam Frame named after Gusion features heavily in Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS.
