Gihren Zabi(vote_count: +1)

Victory is the greatest tribute we can pay to those who sacrificed their lives for us!

Gihren Zabi , Mobile Suit Gundam

Comments

  • A classic line from a very well known speech. Does very well in summing up Gundam really. If you think back to Setsuna in 00, he kind of echoes Gihren's statement on how forging a path to success is the way that people carry on the will of those sacrificed. Lacus Clyne (vote_count: +3)

The world belongs to you just as much as you belong to the world.

Lacus Clyne, Gundam SEED

Comments

  • A quote Lacus repeats to Kira Yamato in Gundam SEED, when the young pilot is questioning himself and his role as a pilot. Lacus heard the quote originally from her mother, who has remained nameless throughout the series. After saying the quote, Kira tells Lacus he loves her. LordNader 15:22, December 3, 2010

Mariemaia Kushrenada (vote_count: +3)

History is much like an endless waltz. The three beats of war, peace and revolution continue on forever.

Mariemaia Kushrenada, Gundam Wing

Comments

  • A quote by Treize Khushrenada's illegitimate daughter, Mariemaia Khushrenada, from the Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz Movie. The quote is a perfect representation of a theme that is prominent in all Gundam series; War, Revolution, and Peace will continue to emerge throughout human history. Amuro Ray(vote_count:+8)

Will I stop fighting and be the destroyer…Or continue to fight and be the savior…Char, I think I'm finally beginning to understand what your question meant.

After his tragic fight at the infamous One Year War, Amuro yet again enters a situation where he almost lost his former self. but as his Arch-rival questions him on whether he will join them or just watch what will happen, this Quote really reminds many classic Gundam fans on how Amuro decides to fight again.

Treize Khushrenada (vote_count: +2)

When war is dehumanized both victory and defeat become miserable and God no longer lends a helping hand.

Treize said in another episode that God is an image created by humans right after delivering a speech saying that He was on their side and before killing himself saying "I'll see you on the other side Miliardo" (he believes in an afterlife but not God? pass the aspirin) so given all this I don't think anything Treize says about God would come anywhere near to being worthy of anything but indifference or a raised eyebrow. He can't make up his mind or is clearly confused yet he keeps talking.

Cagalli Yula Athla (vote_count: +1)

Kill because someone got killed, and being killed because you killed. Would that really bring about true peace in the end?

—Cagalli Yula Athla, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED

Comments

This quote was first spoken by Cagalli Yula Athla in Gundam SEED Episode 31, after she rescued Athrun Zala from the island that Athrun fought Kira Yamato and both suits got blown up. Athrun thought that he had killed Kira in retaliation for him destroying Blitz Gundam and killing its ZAFT pilot, Nicol Armafi who was his best friend using the Sword Strike Gundam. Cagalli was furious as to why both of them had to resort to killing each other because of this as Athrun had also destroyed a Sky Grasper, killing Kira's friend Tolle Koenig in the process.

This quote was spoken as Cagalli pointed a gun at Athrun for doing such things and was later re-quoted by Athrun Zala himself in the sequel Gundam SEED Destiny during a meeting with PLANT Supreme Council Chairman Gilbert Dullindal at the ZAFT Forces Base in Diocvia, mentioning that even after he has been re-enlisted in ZAFT as a FAITH member reporting directly to Chairman Dullindal in an attempt to try and change matters from the inside, he is still unable to find the answer to the question Cagalli asked him in anger two years ago.

This quote's special meaning lies in the fact that many if not all Gundam Series has more or less been used directly or indirectly finding their own answer to this specific question, which has a common trait in each of those: Achieving Understanding between humans on Earth and Outer Space is the only viable method to bring about true peace and put an end to all fighting and destruction. It has been achieved in series like New Mobile Century Gundam X as well as recently, Mobile Suit Gundam 00.

Banagher Links (vote_count:1)

Humanity alone possesses a god the power to transcend the now, the inner god called "possibility"

—Banagher Links, Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn

I fail to see how possiblity is some sort of human specific trait. There's a possiblity of this or that phenomena happening where nobody lives for example.

Kira Yamato (vote_count:1)

But you're wrong! No matter what happens, everyone has only one life to live! That's why that life is yours! Not his!

—Kira Yamato to Rey Za Barrel, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny: Final Plus ~ The Chosen Future

Comments

(Kira insists that Rey is his own person, and his life belong to himself, and not anyone else)

Sometimes, when I think about that quote said by Kira, I've found that there's some resembalance between myself and what's described in "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny: Final Plus ~ The Chosen Future". Well put and Well Said! --—This unsigned comment was made by Chao-Chen Jack Lin (talkcontribs) .

Obviously his life belongs to himself and I highly doubt that somebody being similar to oneself is a valid reason for nominating any quote in particular. Sioraf.killeens (talk) 01:54, July 25, 2013 (UTC)

Unnamed Treize Faction pilot (New Mobile Report Gundam Wing) (vote_count:+2)

Outer Space has a bad habit of sending menacing objects to Earth!

—Unnamed Treize Faction pilot, New Mobile Report Gundam Wing

Comments

(Within context, speaking of Operation Nova, the global orbital drop of Virgo mobile dolls by Romafeller onto Earth)

I honestly think that this quote on its own encapsulates, within a single sentence, almost every series in the franchise in a nutshell. It's bloody brilliant.

MarionetteSaviour (talk) 22:20, April 5, 2013 (UTC)

I have to say, that is one of my all-time favorite Wing quotes, if not one of my favorite quotes ever. RosenDrache (talk) 04:41, August 26, 2013 (UTC)

General Revil (vote_count:+1)

Zeon is exhausted! Now is not the time for us to kneel before Zeon. It is time for us to rise! Now, more than ever, is our chance to defeat Zeon!

One of the most crucial moments in the Universal Century. In spite of the enormous casualties they suffered and land they lost the Earth Federation decides to fight on, and wins.
