This expression became Setsuna's trademark at various crucial moments throughout the Mobile Suit Gundam 00 series. As his fellow meister Lockon Stratos once stated, Gundam is a whole existence for Setsuna. Not only did Gundam (note: I am using the word as a broad term, as a whole that represents and embodies the eradication of war itself) save Setsuna when he was the young fighting Soran Ibrahim; but it also gave "someone who can do no more than fighting" a reason to do it. This expression has such a extent and impact, that Setsuna has been parodied multiple times saying it. I think that this quote expresses the essence of Mobile Suit Gundam 00's message in such a simple and beatiful way that it definitely deserves to be the featured quote. --Marcos Taracena 21:31, December 21, 2009 (UTC)

• Being more of a super robot show rather than a real robot show, it was a pretty new thing for Gundam, it didn't try to be logical or even realistic, infact they actually tried hard to throw that all away while still making it seem like Gundam and make it awesome, and they succeeded. Treize said in another episode that God is an image created by humans right after delivering a speech saying that He was on their side and before killing himself saying "I'll see you on the other side Miliardo" (he believes in an afterlife but not God? pass the aspirin) so given all this I don't think anything Treize says about God would come anywhere near to being worthy of anything but indifference or a raised eyebrow. He can't make up his mind or is clearly confused yet he keeps talking.

You do realize that he was being figurative about God lending a helping hand right? It's about the pointlessness of dehumanized wars, not about god. Also, the part about "see you on the other side" was a translation error, in the Japanese version, he just say that "I'll be leaving before you, Milliardo."Ssskoopa (talk) 06:11, June 22, 2014 (UTC)

Plus, I don't think Treize is actually saying that God doesn't exist. He just has a different view of God. Like when he told Heero that a warrior without confusion is the closest thing to a God.

This quote was first spoken by Cagalli Yula Athla in Gundam SEED Episode 31, after she rescued Athrun Zala from the island that Athrun fought Kira Yamato and both suits got blown up. Athrun thought that he had killed Kira in retaliation for him destroying Blitz Gundam and killing its ZAFT pilot, Nicol Armafi who was his best friend using the Sword Strike Gundam. Cagalli was furious as to why both of them had to resort to killing each other because of this as Athrun had also destroyed a Sky Grasper, killing Kira's friend Tolle Koenig in the process.

This quote was spoken as Cagalli pointed a gun at Athrun for doing such things and was later re-quoted by Athrun Zala himself in the sequel Gundam SEED Destiny during a meeting with PLANT Supreme Council Chairman Gilbert Dullindal at the ZAFT Forces Base in Diocvia, mentioning that even after he has been re-enlisted in ZAFT as a FAITH member reporting directly to Chairman Dullindal in an attempt to try and change matters from the inside, he is still unable to find the answer to the question Cagalli asked him in anger two years ago.

This quote's special meaning lies in the fact that many if not all Gundam Series has more or less been used directly or indirectly finding their own answer to this specific question, which has a common trait in each of those: Achieving Understanding between humans on Earth and Outer Space is the only viable method to bring about true peace and put an end to all fighting and destruction. It has been achieved in series like New Mobile Century Gundam X as well as recently, Mobile Suit Gundam 00.

Preach it, McGillis. It was only episode 1 of the new series and he was already saying things about the world. This quote really stood out to me, and it surprised me that this series already had such a thoughtful quote in the first episode.
