The Gobble is the predecessor of the Gattle. The Gobble used to be part of the Principality of Zeon's main forces before the development of the MS-05B Zaku I. It first appeared as a part of the MSV-R line.

Technology & Combat Characteristics

The Gobble was intended as a pure fighter and later turned out to have some value as an anti-ship attacker, whereas the Gattle was used mainly for anti-ship attack. The Gobble carries two large weapons stations capable of carrying medium missiles for anti-ship attack, which can also hold large fuel tanks or mounted vulcan pods. The Gobble has six internal missile launchers. It also has four regular-sized weapons stations on its landing skids, which are mainly used for short-range guided missiles. The Gobble has a crew of two - a pilot and a flight officer seated in a row.

Special Equipment & Features

  • Weapon Stations

The development for the Gobble began in the early 0060 U.C, it was formally adopted in 0070 U.C, and by 0076 U.C about 3000 units had been deployed, making it the main weapon of the Principality of Zeon. At the end of One Year war, the surviving Gobbles had been reassigned to delivery duties, using their external mounts to ferry weapons and ammunition to mobile suits fighting on the front lines - a dangerous duty that was entrusted to veteran fighter pilots who had never switched over to mobile suits. Some of the ships which served as fighter motherships - the Chivvay-class, the Gwazine-class, and the Dolos-class. The Chivvay-class could carry a maximum of one Gobble squadron, and the Dolos-class could carry up to six squadrons in addition to its 100 and plus mobile suits.
