The GUND Format is a system from the Ad Stella timeline .

Overview

A system which uses GUND technology for military applications .

Mobile suits that incorporated the GUND Format and gained cross-disciplinary fighting abilities were collectively called GUND-ARMs .

GUND-BITs are swarm weapon systems employed by some mobile suits including the XGF-02 Gundam Lfrith and Gundam Lfrith Pre-Production Model .

History

Originally, the GUND was a medical technology meant to assist with physical dysfunctions caused by the space environment. However, when the Vanadis Institute, the lead researcher on the project, was acquired by Ochs Earth, the GUND was repurposed for military mobile suits. Physical damage to its pilots due to data storms then emerged as a problem . This problem led Cathedra to attack Fólkvangr, ban the research, and thus label GUND-ARMs a curse. However, the research was somehow continued silently by several companies including Shin Sei Development Corporation & Peil Technologies.
