GUND-ARM is a classification of mobile suit from the Ad Stella timeline.[1]

History[]

Mobile suits that incorporated the GUND FORMAT and gained cross-disciplinary fighting abilities were collectively called GUND-ARMs, and people across the world soon came to call them GUNDAMs (ガンダム?).[1]

Vanadis Incident[]

On the 20th of the month in which the attack occurred, the Front 3rd Autonomous Sector had approved a budget to purchase Gundam-type mobile suits manufactured by Ochs Earth. Ochs Earth's weapon system had raised major concerns regarding bioethical issues for its pilots, and the accountability of the company, as well as the Mobile Suit Development Council, had been called into question.

Thus, to protect their interests, the council announced that they would be using the Business Administrative Laws to take over Ochs and shut down development on the Gundams. They also founded the Benerit Group to oversee the financing of all future mobile suits, with Delling Rembran being appointed as the group's president. His first action was to launch an unsanctioned attack on Fólkvangr, where tests on the new Gundam model, the XGF-02 Gundam Lfrith, were taking place. In the end, the head scientist, Cardo Nabo, and nearly the entire Vanadis personnels were killed, effectively freezing the project. However, their test pilot, Elnora Samaya, and her daughter, Ericht Samaya, managed to escape using the completed Lfrith.[2]

A.S. 122[]

Suletta Mercury brought the XVX-016 Gundam Aerial with her when she enrolled at Asticassia School of Technology. When it was used in a duel against Guel Jeturk and his Dilanza, spectator Elan Ceres recognized it as a Gundam,[3] prompting duel overseer Shaddiq Zenelli to report Suletta to the Front Management Company. As a result, Suletta was arrested and the duel was declared "void".

Afterward, the Benerit Group launched an inquiry into the Aerial's developers, the Shin Sei Development Corporation. During the trial, the company president Prospera Mercury claimed that the mobile suit was created using their new drone technology and that its resemblance to a GUND-ARM was merely coincidental. However, despite a lack of evidence, Delling used his authority to declare them guilty anyway. Fortunately, the president's daughter, Miorine Rembran, proposed they settle the dispute through an Asticassia duel, as per her father's own rules.[4]

GUND-ARM Inc.[]

In order to save both Suletta Mercury and the Aerial, Miorine Rembran at the 15th Incubation Party proposed a new company that shall handle the research and development of the GUND FORMAT. It shall acquire and then merge the development teams that developed the Gundams, which was the Shin Sei Development Corporation and a team within Peil Technologies respectively.

The new company shall be managed and operated with the protection of life as its top priority, with the company and Miorine as the one responsible for bioethical issues and complying with the Cathedra Agreement's restrictions. Miorine further proposed that the investment be made via anonymous contract and should be independent of the Benerit Group to avoid any risk to anyone who will invest.

After reaching the investment amount of 240,000,000,000, GUND-ARM Inc. was successfully pitched to investors. Miorine Rembran, who's the project planner shall also be its President and Chief Executive Officer.
