Template:Infobox/Mobile Weapon Ver.2 The GN-002REIII Gundam Dynames Repair III (aka Gundam Dynames Repair III, Dynames R3) is the upgraded version of the GN-002REII Gundam Dynames Repair II appearing in Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Festival 10 "Re:vision". It is piloted by Laetitia Erde.

Technology & Combat Characteristics

Dynames R3 is the third refitted version to the original Dynames. Originally designed to be a long-range sniper and ballistics support unit, Celestial Being (CB) engineers refitted and enhanced the Gundam to the preferences of Laetitia Erde (Tieria's clone).[1][2] Taking a resemblance to Gundam Virtue, the unit is now a custom assault mobile suit (MS).[2][3]

For weapons and combat, various parts of Dynames' armor and weapons silhouette have been modified and refitted to its new assault orientation. The GN Full Shield (from Dynames R1) has been removed and given a pair of GN Cannons that performs a similar purpose in its place. Like Virtue, each cannon is a double-barrel particle cannon; the cannons takes the form of shoulder-mounted shields.[3] Some of the advanced technologies used to develop the more advanced Gundams was incorporated into R3 and reflects the design of the shields. [2][3]The top panel on the cannon can open to vent GN Particles for GN Field generation.

Dynames’ GN Sniper Rifle has been replaced with a GN Bazooka (a variant of Virtue's bazooka). While the original bazooka was large and wide, this version is slimmer and narrow. Compared to the original, this bazooka is designed to be handheld, less recoil, and treated as a large rifle. CB engineers have found ways to enhance its assault units with various gun configurations and particle manipulation for special attacks. It's unclear if there are any special gun configurations between its guns and shields for a powerful blast like Burst Mode.

The original sniper system included a fire control trigger at the top of the cockpit. During sniper mode, Dynames' head antenna would lower to unveil an ocular scope and lower the control trigger (within cockpit) for long-range precision shooting. The cockpit also contains an Orange Haro ported on the right side of the controls. A human meister can't pilot Dynames and snipe targets at the same time without help; the Haro is there to assist (by A.I. and voice command) the pilot in MS controls while in combat. With it's new modifications and Innovade Meister, the sniper system (along with its peripheral equipment) is no longer needed.

The front skirt armor on the torso had four GN Missile Launchers. Each launcher carries four GN Missiles (totaling 16 missiles) and a closed red plate in the center. CB engineers removed the launchers and refitted it with a pair of verniers. Including the quad verniers added during the R1 refit, the R3 unit has a total of six GN Verniers to enhance Dynames' mobility.[3] The center red plate has been refitted with an enlarge plate that features a vent on the bottom. The armored knee is also a missile launcher, carrying four missiles on each knee (totaling 8) for countermeasures; there's no information regarding any changes after the refit.

Laetitia is capable of advanced multi-tasking (through its quantum network connection with Veda) while piloting Dynames. His quantum processing capabilities allows the meister to manage offensive and defensive systems while communicating with its tactical network in tandem. Added with the memories and experiences of Tieria, Laetitia battles enemy forces as an experienced veteran against enemy forces.[1][2][3]

For power, Dynames' original GN Drive has been moved over to Gundam Zabanya since its R1 refit. The R3 unit continues to utilize a GN Condenser as its power core. CB engineers didn't replace it with a new GN Drive nor substitute it with a GN T Drive. Because of this, it has a limited operation time without a supply of GN Particles to recharge. The Trans-Am System can be activated to temporarily boost its overall capabilities, but without its GN Drive, it's only used as a last resort as it will drain most of its power. Overall, Dynames R3 remains a formidable Gundam in battle.

Notes & Trivia

  • Its paint scheme likely references Laetitia Erde's association with Tieria Erde, whose mobile suits were often colored in black.
