The Fuel Truck (燃料トラック Nenryō Torakku?) is an Earth Federation Forces' transport vehicle which appears in ONA Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance.
Technology & Characteristics[]
Despite the advent of nuclear-powered mobile suits in One Year War, many Federation's and Zeon's mobile weapons and vehicles remained fossil-fuel powered. The means to contain and transport hydrocarbon fuels such as gasoline and diesel, not to mention a steady maintenance of fuel supply lines, became paramount for both warring factions. One such vehicle was the Fuel Truck developed by the EFF and manufactured for its Ground Force on Earth. The ten-wheeled Fuel Truck featured body-on-frame construction, with the two-wheeled armored driving cabin that was independent of the eight wheeled fuel tank portion of the vehicle, which could be utilized to store gasoline, diesel or other hydrocarbon fuel. The fuel tanks were often painted in red with appropriate chemical hazard labels and textual warning to remind other drivers and soldiers to pay attention when such units appeared due to the fuels' highly combustible nature.
History[]
The Fuel Truck was produced in large numbers and they are deployed by the both the Federation and the Zeon forces as a fuel containing vehicle across the Earth during the One Year War, most notably in and Eastern European frontlines.[1][2] For the latter, an unit abandoned by the EFF during the retreat from Cluj-Napoca military base was driven by 2nd Lt. Ander Heaton as part of Cpt. Iria Solari's audacious plan to distract and disable the RX-78(G)E Gundam EX to allow Hailey Arhun and her First Armored Infantry Company to escape from the overrun Zeon base.[1]
