The UGY-R41/T2C Labrys is a mobile suit introduced in the manga Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS Gekko.

Technology & Combat Characteristics

A custom Rodi Frame machine used by the troops under Tanto Tempo's Gianmarco Salerno, its customization was carried out independently by the organization. Designed to act as a shield to protect VIPs, the Labrys has thicker armor than the UGY-R41 Man Rodi and its tower-like head is equipped with enhanced sensors for communicating with each other. However, despite its thicker armor, the Labrys weighs slightly less than the Man Rodi. Capable of operating both on the ground and in space, it is equipped with the same armament as the Man Rodi.

Armaments

• Hammer Chopper

A close combat weapon with varied uses. Aside from functioning as a hatchet, it can also be used as a hammer since there is a hammer head on the opposite side of the blade. Below the hammer head is a thruster unit, which upon activation, can enhance the weapon's attack power or to allow it to travel further when thrown. The thruster unit also functions as an attachment point for storing the weapon on the rear skirt weapon mount.

• 90mm Submachine Gun

A simple mobile suit-use submachine gun that is widely circulated. Due to its light weight, it is easy to handle. It can be fired single handedly or held with both hands, and during precision firing, the stock is extended. The Submachine gun can be stored on the same rear skirt weapon mount as the one used by the Hammer Chopper if it is free.

• Hand Grenade

One hand grenade can be stored behind each side skirt armor. Besides the normal explosive grenade, there is also other variations like smoke grenade and their blast timing can be altered by shooting at it.

History

It was used in an attack by Argi Mirage's team who were visiting the Avalanche Colony's Under-3, but they were intercepted by Gjallarhorn's Graze squadron and engaged in a battle.

Notes & Trivia

• The armor around the Labrys' head greatly resembles the homemade armour worn by the 19th-century Australian bushranger Ned Kelly.
• The 90mm Submachine Gun is modeled after the real life MP5K SMG.
