The Sturgeon-class is a transport spacecraft deployed by the Earth Alliance, introduced in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam SEED.
Technology & Combat Characteristics[]
The Sturgeon-class is used by the Earth Alliance to communicate between the Earth and Moon bases and to transport supplies into space. From the ground, the shuttle is ejected out of the atmosphere by a Mass Driver and is then launched into space by igniting a detachable booster. In addition to supplies, the Sturgeon-class is capable of storing at least 3 mobile suits/
History[]
Following the recapture of the Mass Driver during the Third Battle of Victoria, the Allied Forces began using shuttles to transport supplies to their Ptolemaeus Lunar Base. One shuttle was used by Muruta Azrael to transport himself, the second generation GAT-X series mobile suits, and their pilots into space, where they were assigned to the Dominion Corps.[1][2] After acquiring the Neutron Jammer Canceller technology, the Allied Forces began mass-producing Nuclear Missiles and used these vessels to transport large amounts of them to the lunar base in preparation for Operation Peacemaker.[3]
