The UM-190B.II Gussa Improved Performance Type is a Man-Machine used by the Earth Federation's Man Hunters that appears in the novel and radio drama Gaia Gear.
Technology & Combat Characteristics[]
A mass-production Man-Machine of the Earth Federation Forces Man Hunters, it features upgraded avionics. It is an inexpensive and versatile full-range man-machine intended for use in space.
Armaments[]
- Sand Barrel
Much like many Man Machine's of this era. The Gussa can be equipped with an optional "Sand Barrel"; which is an airburst anti-missile/anti-funnel grenade launcher that is designed to disable remote weapons.
- Beam Saber
Located just under the forearms in a underside compartment; the Gussa's beam sabers can slide out from the inner wrists of the man machine. Allowing for quick access in hand-to-hand combat situations.
- Beam Rifle
Mounted to the Gussa's right arm. The Beam rifle serves as the Gussa's primary anti-man-machine weapon; allowing it to destroy targets with both effectiveness and destructive brutality.
- Shield
Mounted to the Gussa's left arm, the Gussa's shield serves a dual purpose in combat; one, granting the suit a modicum of protection and two, serving as the location of the unit's beam cutter.
- Beam Cutter
Incorperated into the Gussa's shield, the triangular extension on the end of the shield is where this weapon is concealed. When the beam cutter is activated, the top of the shield rotates and splits in half; allowing the Gussa's shield to act a large pair of, scissor-like beam blades.
- MBR-196 Mega Beam Launcher
Specially designed for the Gussa Improved type. The MBR-196 Mega Beam Launcher is a cost effective heavy weapon for the unit to wield. The weapon was chosen for units that weren't equipped with the Gussa's long drive unit and was often given to Gussa improved types to increase their own firepower, since they themselves were already upgraded with the VOE-R101 high mobility thruster pack and the Gussa's long drive unit already possessed integrated mega beam launchers already.

Developed for the Gussa Improved type, the VOE-R101 high mobility thruster pack is specialized high-maneuverability backpack designed for the suit, it grants the unit increased mobility and freedom of movement in the vacuum of space.
History[]
Developed as an upgrade to the already dated UM-190B.I Gussa, the Gussa II Improved type was made to stamp out the shortcomings of the previous model and adapt it for space; while still remaining overall cost effective. The unit possessed upgraded thrusters and a specialized high-maneuverability backpack. However, as the conflict between the Manhunters and Metatron progressed further, the unit was eventually phased out for the initial wave of Bromb Texter Pre-Production Type "Zero" units.
