The EMS-TC01 Lalo is a mobile suit which appears in the manga series Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam: Ghost.

Technology & Combat Characteristics[]

The Lalo is one of the "Thousand Custom" developed by the Jupiter Republic. It is a prototype of Thoucus unit and is somewhat different from other machines in concept. It looks like a ball-riding clown with a dedicated support machine "Ride Ball", and has the same concept as the combination of Einerad and ZM-S24G Gedlav of the Zanscare Empire developed at the same time, but based on Jupiter's S size frame. The total height of Lalo is less than 10m, and the mass of the Ride Ball is less than 1/6 of the Einerad. The speed and mobility of Lalo that comes from this miniaturization surpasses that of MS of the same era.

Like the Gedlav with the Einerad, the Lalo relies on the durable Ride Ball for defense, but while Gedlav gets inside the Einerad and use its beam shield to cover its sides, Lalo has to position the Ride Ball between itself and an enemy. The mechanical wheel arms on its back allow it to lay low behind the Ride Ball and drive toward the enemy. While the Lalo has a low cost of production due to its small structure, only a skillful pilot can utilize the Ride Ball for effective defense and thus there is no plan for mass production.

Armaments[]

  • Beam Rifle
The main weapon of Lalo. It has a vertical symmetrical shape, and two muzzles are lined up vertically. A unique feature of the rifle is the ability to separate and deploy a pair of beam blades from the muzzles.

Special Equipment & Features[]

  • Ride Ball
A sub-flight system exclusively for the Lalo. It has the same concept as the Einerad of the Zanscare Empire, which was developed around the same time, and has increased the directivity of the defense by abandoning the defense to the whole, but the ability to operate the machine behind the enemy's attack is always a must. For offense the Ride Ball can also deploy beam blades.
