The CAMS-02 Catsith is a mobile suit introduced in the anime Gundam Reconguista in G.
Technology & Combat Characteristics[]
The Catsith is the first full-scale combat mobile suit developed by the Capital Army. In the intercontinental war between Ameria and Gondwan, the military power of the two countries expanded rapidly, and along with that, Rose of Hermes blueprints permeated each country and mobile suits began to be developed and deployed. Against this situation, even Capital Army had to deploy armed mobile suits as a deterrent, and this machine was suddenly developed. It has a structure specialized in aerial combat for the purpose of combating the recent military expansion. Therefore, high maneuverability in the air and long-range cruising ability are essential, and special attention is paid to wing design and balance adjustment.
Various equipment such as shields and missile pods can be mounted on the extension arm via two general-purpose connectors provided on the backpack. Underneath the distinctive face cover, multiple cameras and sensors are densely arranged, and when lit, their light is projected onto the transparent tempered glass cover. In addition, the leg armor itself has a structure that doubles as a frame, making it possible to use the empty space as an armament container to mount equipment according to the mission. The wings of the backpack can be folded and detached at will, making it easy to maneuver when operating in confined spaces. Also, the backpack can be replaced with a space backpack.
Armaments[]
- Beam Rifle
- A portable firearm that shoots out mega particles. It is designed to be as flat as possible to minimize air resistance, and can be used by other mobile suits as it uses the same universal standard as weapons from the Regild Century era.
- Beam Saber
- A beam weapon for close combat, one is stored in each leg armor. In addition to being carried by the manipulator, it can also be used as a kicking weapon when attached to the legs, and the angle of the leg armor can be changed to allow for flexibility. Using it while attached to the legs is also useful in aerial combat to get the upper hand on the opponent, and the CAMS-03 Elf Bullock and CAMS-04 Wuxia inherited this design concept and equipped their legs with fighting weapons.
- Shield
- A physical shield for defense. It is attached to the backpack via an extension arm, and is designed to prevent interference with the flight unit.
- Leg Missile
- Small missiles stored in the legs' armament containers, 12 can be stored per leg, for a total of 24 missiles.
- Missile Pod
- A optional quadruple missile pod that is attached to the backpack via an extension arm.
