Falaq (ファラク Faraku?) is a faction that appears in the novel Mobile Suit Gundam: The Blazing Shadow.
Overview[]
Falaq is a group of Zeon remnants from the One Year War that operate out of the shoal zone at Side 4, committing terrorist attacks against the Earth Federation. They are led by Rogui Negidrum, who is a fanatical Zeon supremacist and believer in Newtype Theory. However, not all of the members share his zealotry, and many of his subordinates are only there out of a sense of having nowhere else to go.
History[]
The group came into conflict with the Shutendouji pirates, who also operated out of Side 4 from the colony "Rodinia". The two forces came into their most direct conflict in the year 0083 when Shutendouji sheltered Cain Ragnard after finding the HLV he used to escape the Middle East. Falaq would fall apart after the death of its leader in combat, and many of the surviving members would surrender to Shutendouji. These pilots would be folded into the private military contractors Maria Shield PMC, which was started by Cain.
