The FA-010S (FA-010B) Full Armor ZZ Gundam is a mobile suit that appears in Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ. It is an upgrade of the MSZ-010S Enhanced ZZ Gundam.
Technology & Combat Characteristics
The MSZ-010S Enhanced ZZ Gundam was not a permanent fix to MSZ-010 ΖΖ Gundam. On that note, Anaheim Electronics constructed a Full Armor System for the Enhanced ZZ Gundam, adding on many missile launchers and an extra beam cannon. It also added extra armor with anti-beam coating, making it able to withstand even the most powerful of beam attacks for at least 3 seconds.
Like MSZ-010 ΖΖ Gundam, Full Armor ZZ Gundam is used as a assault mobile suit which able to destroy many other mobile suit very easily by the weapon over its body. The additional missile lancher allow Full Armorr ZZ Gundam gain a bombant ability, giving the destructive Full Armorr ZZ Gundam more attack ability.
While the Full Armor upgrade solved many of the flaws of the normal MSZ-010 ΖΖ Gundam, and though the hulking new armament was powerful, a new flaw was introduced in the form of the armor's restrictive bulk, which inhibited the transformation system. In order to transform into G-Fortress mode, the ZZ would need to shed the entirety of the Full Armor parts, leaving it as the weaker MSZ-010S Enhanced ZZ Gundam. In Super Robot Wars Alpha Gaiden, the Full Armor ZZ was still able to transform into G-Fortress mode through unknown means, but in future games the Full Armor equipment has locked the unit's transformation ability as in the show.
Armaments
The Full Armor ZZ keeps the regular armaments of the old ZZ while adding additional ones.
- Missile Launchers
- The Full Armor package gives the Enhanced ZZ a series of missile launchers mounted all over the body. This gives the FA Double Zeta more of a bombardment role in combat. Spraying missiles were also mounted on FA-ZZ, mainly for making distraction/countering I-Field.
- Hyper Mega Cannon
- A new addition to the Full Armor package, the Hyper Mega Cannon is a powerful upgrade to the original ZZ's powerful (but energy draining) High Mega Cannon.
History
Though the MSZ-010S Enhanced ZZ Gundam helped to improve the structural weakness of the original ZZ Gundam, it was not a permanent fix and it was only launched once. On that note, Anaheim Electronics constructed a Full Armor System for the Enhanced ZZ Gundam, adding on many missile launchers and an extra beam cannon. Though the hulking new armament was powerful, it could only be used in mobile suit mode, forcing Judau to eject the Full Armor parts in order to transform into G-Fortress mode. In the final battle of the internal conflict within Neo Zeon, AEUG cruiser Nahel Argama intervenes, Full Armor ZZ was launched and performed in the battle. Although it did not make much major contributions, it was able to match off with Puru Two's Quin Martha before Glemy Toto was sniped down by Roux Louka in her Zeta.
