The F90M Gundam F90 Marine Type (aka "M-Type") is a amphibious combat mobile suit, it is featured in the model kit and original design series Mobile Suit Gundam F90.
Technology & Combat Characteristics
The F90M Gundam F90 Marine Type is the Gundam F90 equipped with the Marine Type equipment. The Marine Type equipment is designed to increase the F90 Gundam aquatic combat abilities to optimize its performance for underwater missions.
Because rocket thrusters are highly ineffective, in order to increase underwater mobility the Gundam F90's rocket thrusters are complimented by a pair of hydrojet thrusters that allows the F90 to move at speeds up to 90 knots. The hydrojet backpack also includes control surfaces to adjust the F90's profile to improve mobility. For combat the F90 only retains its head Vulcan armament while mounting various weapons designed for aquatic use including torpedoes, marine rockets, an arrow shooter, and a combat knife.
The Marine Type equipment also includes additional sensor and communications equipment designed for underwater operation. The Marine Type can plunge to a maximum depth of 400 m, 1.6 times more than that of the MSM-03 Gogg. This mission pack was completed along with the A, D, S, H type options in September, U.C. 0111.
