The F90H Gundam F90 Hover Type (aka Gundam F90 H-Type) is a mobile suit from the series of Mobile Suit Gundam F90 (1990) model kits and original design series.

Technology & Combat Characteristics[]

The F90H Gundam F90 Hover Type is one of the many mission packs developed for the F90 Gundam F90 by the Strategic Naval Research Institute. The F90 Hover Type enhances the F90's ground combat capabilities. Based on the same concept as the MS-09B Dom from the One Year War, the F90 Hover Type was designed for rapid hit-and-run attacks. Its hovering system is powered by an additional reactor located in the backpack. At 1G, its maximum hovering speed is 480 km per hour, twice the speed of the Dom. However, being a miniaturized mobile suit, the amount of propellant it can carry is limited, so it can only hover for around four hours.[1]

Armaments[]

  • 60mm Vulcan Gun
A pair of shell-firing weapon built into the head. Though not powerful, its high rate of fire meant it was employed to intercept enemy missiles/units, as warning shots, and to destroy lightly armored targets.
  • 4-tube Missile Pod
Two large 4-tube missile pods are mounted on the the shoulder hardpoints
  • 2-tube Grenade Pack
A 2-tube grenade launcher is mounted on the right forearm hardpoint.
  • Shield
A shield is mounted on the left forearm hardpoint.
  • Beam Pistol
This small sidearm serves as the mobile suit's only beam weaponry.

Special Equipment & Features[]

  • Sensor Equipment
  • Searchlight
The Gundam F90 Hover Type was equipped with a pair of searchlights on its front skirt.
  • 8000 Series Neurocomputer
A fifth-generation Non-Von Neumann computer that is the main control computer of the F90. It was installed due to the need for a powerful computing system to control a high performance machine. Besides controlling the mobile suit, it can control all the Mission Packs as well. It is the first MS-based computer to have a holo-cube processing system with more than one million synaptic processors, but it cannot be programmed in the usual way, so a pseudo-personality knowledge base is configured on the processors, and it is programmed by synaptic connections through repeated simulations against an learning computer installed with data of past mobile suit battles.
  • Type-A.R Pseudo-Personality Computer
Installed on Unit 1, it not only assists with control of the Mission Packs, but can also predict the enemy's movements. Though never confirmed, it is heavily implied that its programming was based on the pseudo-personality of Amuro Ray.

History[]

Mobile Suit Gundam F90: Fastest Formula[]

In. U.C. 0122, a Gundam F90 Unit 1 and its H-Type mission pack were assigned to the Garuda Class Garwish, during the Second Oldsmobile War. Piloted by Bergh Scred. The Gundam F90 H-Type was assigned to destroy the Oldsmobile ground forces Dabude Class Bombarr.[2] Despite being outnumbered the F90 H-Type manage to outmaneuvered the Oldsmobile forces, by destroying several OMS-07RF RF Gouf, alongside OMS-09DRF RF Desert Dom, then it manage to destroy the Dabude class by unleashing all of its ammunition. Luckily the Gundam only suffered minor damage despite fighting against overhelming number of enemy.[2]
