Eiphar Synapse (エイパー・シナプス?) is a character that appears in Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory. A Earth Federation Forces officer, he is the captain of the assault carrier MSC-07 Albion.

Personality & Character

Einar Synapse is a grizzled veteran, with a commanding personality and a keen tactical mind. Originally dispatched to collect the prototype Gundams from the Federation's Torrington Base, Synapse soon finds himself charged with pursuing the stolen RX-78GP02A Gundam "Physalis". Well aware that he can expect little guidance or support from the Federation's upper ranks, Synapse is often forced to rely on both his own judgement and his own sense of right and wrong.

On October 13, U.C. 0083, Synapse, captaining the Albion, transported two Gundams: the RX-78GP01 Gundam "Zephyranthes" and the RX-78GP02A Gundam "Physalis", to Torrington Base for testing under gravity. Also on board was a team of engineers from Anaheim Electronics. However, the base was attacked by the Delaz Fleet, and Zeon ace pilot Anavel Gato stole the Gundam Physalis.

Under the order of Admiral John Kowen, Captain Synapse led the Albion in pursuit of Gato and the Physalis. Before departing for Africa, he assigned Torrington Base instructor South Burning to be the company commander of the ship.

On October 23, the Albion arrived at the Kimberlite Base in Africa, a Zeon remnant hideout. However, despite the best effort of the ship, it failed to intercept the HLV carrying Gato and the Physalis, which was successfully launched into space.

Notes & Trivia

  • In Super Robot Wars α3, Synapse was sentenced to death by the Blue Cosmos after intentionally letting the Archangel escape from Orb, though he was saved from execution by Bruno J. Global.
  • It is implied Synapse suffers from a Liver-related health issue, due to the fact his personal alcohol supply was kept under close supervision in the Albion's medical center.
