An EL-Diver, shortened from Electronic Lifeform Diver, is an electronic lifeform born out of the massive amount of data in GBN. They are known to pilot mechanical versions of themselves called Mobile Dolls. According to Parviz, there are 87 known EL-Divers in existence.
History
The existence of EL-Divers were mostly unknown, though a theory by Ms. Tori. The first known EL-Diver, Sarah was discovered by Force Build Divers members Riku and Yukki, but her existence as an EL-Diver wasn't fully revealed until the GBN administration discovered her following the Nadeshiko-athalon. Following the fight for Sarah's life with the second Coalition of Volunteers, EL-Divers became an accepted race in GBN, living within the game under the protection of the administration.
Some EL-Divers, such as Sarah and May, are granted Mobile Doll bodies made by Koichi Nanase and Tsukasa Shiba.
It is unknown if EL-Divers that are killed are permanently erased.
